LEARNING THROUGH PLAY AT IT'S BEST!!
The biggest obstacle in creating a learning game is to do just that; make learning as fun as a game and a child will retain the knowledge gained from the experience. Experience creates memories and memories are not forgotten when thought of often! I work in early education and I am a Director. I purchased this as well as the Alphabet Marks game. I purchased them for the summer program when we have some older kids and this game was such a hit! The foam dice are exciting for younger kids just by themselves. It was exciting and I love the way that it taught so many more things than just math. The kids had to work on social skills like crazy. They had to take turns, be patient and how to win or lose well. They became self learners as the older children (ages 5-8) naturally lead the younger ones and did a great job explaining math skills. A child that can give directions on adding and subtracting is a clear example of thorough understanding! The teamwork was awesome and would make any teacher proud. Keep in mind, there were only 6 children in a group and larger sizes would not have given such a thorough insight. I love to adapt games to young ages too. For 3-4 year olds, one dice was used and each child would roll it (gross motor skills because we let them throw it far to get some energy out) and they would pick it up and match it to the number on the mat. Cognitive learning done in this format creates a math memory and it will be retained and will be a strong stepping stone in math skills. This learning resource was given to me at a lower cost for my honest review. Early Education is my passion and this is a game I would recommend. It is "learning through play" at it's best

Can be used in a number of ways.
This math mat has been fun and exciting for my Kinders. The mat itself is a bit more flimsy than I thought it would be, but it is holding up in my classroom so far. It can be use for simple number identification as well as for math equations. All in all it has been very useful.

So much fun!
There are several games you can play listed in the instructions. They are all very simple. This can be used in a classroom or homeschool setting. It’s perfect for my kindergartener. I believe it would work well for a first grader too.You get a vinyl mat and foam dice. They are all great quality and I see them lasting for my infant to use them in a few years. Overall I’m really happy I bought this and I wish I had it sooner

Fun
This mat is fun and quite versatile. We have played math twister, flash cards, guess the number, and several other games with it and the kids love it. It seems to be holding up well however the plastic is very stiff and difficult to fold. I have actually given up on folding and just hang it over a bar in the closet.

So many applications!
Another amazing product by Learning Resources! As a mother of two, an in-home child care provider, and a preschool teacher, I have found this to be an incredible tool. The youngest children love the colors and feel of the mat, toddlers love jumping around to find numbers/colors, and preschoolers enjoy countless math-based games and activities. I also own the Alphabet Marks the Spot game with the inflatable dice (which is also fabulous), but find the foam dice in this version to be much more durable.

High Quality
This mat is bigger than I was expecting, so finding an open space for it has been a challenge, but it's worth it! My kids use it to practice addition and subtraction facts within 12. Their favorite way to play is doing a "lightning round" where they have to do the steps as fast as possible. Huge hit!

Great fun
A lovely way to teach addition and subtraction to 12. My maths-reluctant daughter has really taken to this game and hence her maths skills have improved significantly. Anything that puts fun into learning has got to be good.
