Grids & Guides Blk: A Notebook for Visual Thinkers

Perfect "thinky" notebook -- for the right person.
You have to be the right person for this notebook. If you are, it'll be your favorite, immediately. Are you regularly described as creative? Maybe a little eccentric? Totally bat*** crazy? Yeah, me too. Grids & Guides is for YOU.Yes, it's true -- you page through, you bounce around from one type to another, you never quite have the page you need in the order you want. But it's in there somewhere. And the notebook is small enough to find your spot by paging through fast, use post-it tabs or even a color mark on the page's edge.Paper is pretty good. Could be better but I'm not complaining -- and I'm very, very particular about paper stock. Chances are you'll be pleased.Semi-flex cover is OK. It's firm enough to use against crossed legs, but flexes enough to jam in a large pocket or overstuffed backpack without cracking/folding/apparent damage. The embossed cover graph lends a unique handfeel.Grid markings and quality are good, too. The only criticism I have is that the pages are such that grid styles are restricted to left-page-only and right-page-only. This wouldn't matter quite as much if they weren't up-down directional (just turn the book upside-down, right?) but a few of the more useful ones are directional lefties.Implications of the above -- if you prefer pencil to pen, you're gonna get transferred tracemarks all over the place. This happens all the time with notebooks, of course, but usually I just leave my left-pages blank. It'd be better if the styles switched up between left- and right-page.An initial disappointment that's turned around is the polar coordinate graph (two circles, graduated one each by degrees and pi) -- this one's actually turned into a favorite for some crazy reason.Overall, good work. This is not, and will never become, my "serious notes" notebook -- the kind where I need to keep track of meeting notes or action items -- but it's my go-to "thinky" notebook for creative output, doodling, semi-unstructured thought or notes I'm writing because it helps me to remember.

Impressive!
This notebook is so cool. I was going to give it 5 stars when I opened it and saw the various page formats - grids, story boards, ledgers, and more. But then I discovered that every few pages there is a surprise: common calculations and measurements, even the periodic table. I wish I could give it 6 stars. There is so much in this little notebook. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Favorite notebooks (moleskine who?)
My notebooks are my prized possessions. I use them for everything from drawing to notes. I’ve used all kinds of notebooks, and these are hands down my favorite books I’ve ever used. The paper quality is excellent and I love the little insert pages, which are different in each color notebook. I usually use tons of gel ink on each page and sometimes markers and there is little bleed through even with the heaviest hand

These are great notebooks for people who just really like notebooks
These are great notebooks for people who just really like notebooks. The quality of the paper is decent and the different graphs sort of force you to think outside the box if you are using this book for taking notes. I like that it is a hard cover but still flexible.

A little pricey, but amazing.
A little pricey, but amazing. The paper quality and feel is great. The different lab notebook patterns and grids are good for organizing notes and drawing diagrams (using this for an antenna theory course and will be a godsend for keeping the notes clear and readable). Would also make an awesome art journal. The random fact pages provide interesting distractions.I definitely wouldn't use these for normal classes, but for stuff that will be referenced and added to for the rest of my career, these are perfect.

Not really sure I will like this.
I order 2 of these, one was a gift. It's pretty niffty notebook but I think I'll be giving it person I order it as a gift for. The pages give the user many options to play with what and how they want to write their ideas. I think I'm a more straight forward in my approach so I don't think I'm the bet person for this notebook.

Quality notebook with interesting extras
An interesting wee notebook, Ideal for visual thinkers, everyone knows one of those, someone who plans their life on the back of an envelope, who doodles instead of note taking, that kind of person. There are a variety of different page set ups that may or may not lend themselves to a particular use, gridded, graphed etc. These are interspersed with the sort of information that it feels good to have, the stuff you hope might he useful some day, Morse code, the periodic table, that type of thing. It is visually very satisfying to look at, It has a quality feel to it being nicely bound and sturdy with good quality paper.A real treat.

Great tool for labwork or as a field notebook.
Really like this notebook, use it in the lab as an environmental scientist. When writing with a biro it's okay, however, gel ink tends to dry slower due to the thick quality paper...pros and cons but overall a workehorse of a notebook. Would definitely recommend.

Unique
Bought as a gift and he was very pleased. I wanted to keep it if I am honest as the grid layouts have many possibilities.
