Know what you are buying (3.5 stars)
It took me about 6 hours to assemble this thing semi-completely. A big issue is that for the Ultrasonic sensor, the soldered-on connector extends way too far out, making it impossible to screw the sensor to the acrylic holder without filing it down. The connector ends are pretty hard, so I really don't know how to do this, and may just end up abandoning the ultrasonic altogether at this point. Another pain is all of the cabling. In the final assembly, all of my cables are mashed together in the 'body' of the robot. As well, I don't see a way of attaching the RPi camera ribbon cable to the RPi without damaging it, as the cabling and jutting headers on the RPi will no doubt damage it. Don't look at the $85 price tag either, as this will cost you $85+$35(RPi 3 B+)+$20(18650 batteries) ~= $140. That being said, I didn't find anything like this on amazon, so ...

Fun, easy to assemble with slight mod to fit Pi4
The media could not be loaded.  TLDR: This is a great kit, very affordable, build with quality parts, follow the online PDF for easier time in assembly. The programming part is mostly supported for windows, but I got mine working on a Mac with few google queries. You may need to do a slight modification to one of the acrylic parts so that it holds the raspberry Pi 4. Have funThe adept rasp tank is a great start for anyone trying to get started playing with robotics. The price is fairly reasonable given the parts that it comes with, picamera, servos x5, ultrasonic sensor, leds, ect. Once assembled, it is fairly compact and even looks pretty cool. The assembly process is straight forward simply follow the instructions found on the adept website. The ones that were included in the box were wrong, but go to this link [ https://www.adeept.com/video/static1/itemsfile/Manual_Adeept_RaspTank_V1_2.pdf ] and you will have an easier time. Overall, it took me less than a day to put it all together. Note that it may be best to setup the Raspberry Pi (Pi) before completing the assembly. Once the tank is fully assembled, it will be hard to reach in to access the sdcard.Programming the Pi itself was straight forward. Simply run the setup script and it will take care of installing most dependencies. I did end up having to reinstall some dependencies, like GPIO, python3 setup tool, rpi_ws281x but that wasn’t too much of an issue. On the client side, most of the info is based on windows. So if you are running a Mac or PC, you will have to google around to figure out how to install stuff, specially OpenCv.Once everything was setup and installed, I was able to run the RaspTankTest.py without any issues and connected successfully to the tank (I have a video of it working below.) The RaspTank.py, however gave my a threading error when I ran it. Perhaps this is because macOS handles threading in a special way, idk, I’ll have to look into it more. That being said I was not able to test the camera functions.Overall, this is a great learning/fun kit! And I LOVE that it is opensource :DP.S.: This RaspTank is compatible with the Pi4, but you will have to modify part# A06 so that the Pi4 fits see pictures.

Manufacturing tolerances have gotten bad
So this tank looks really cool, but has several issues. If i had to guess, I'd say their manufacturing process has changed and their tolerances and quality control has gone way down.1) Protective paper on plastic. All the plastic pieces have a paper on it, in their install video, this just peels off easily, but in reality, this will not peel off, I broke several fingernails trying, and had to use a razor blade to scrape all this paper off, which leaves the plastic with a gross scratched up film on it.2) Part A06, is too thick, it doesn't fit on top of the Pi, I've had to sand and grind the piece down, other reviews mentioned this as well.3) The batteries - these look like double A, but are not. I didn't realize I would need special batteries for this, which cost another $10-20, plus they don't sell stuff like this at the hardware store, so it takes another online order. Also the battery holders are very cheaply made and the wires came out of them and ended up being useless.4) The cables - make sure your raspberry pi comes with the adaptors and cables needed, this kit won't have that stuff.5) Prepare for another $150 of parts and accessories on top of the price of the tank. Depending on the version you get, the raspberry pi, cables, batteries, sandpaper, razor blades etc that you'll need to put this together will all cost extra and have meant another 5 amazon orders I've had to wait on.6) Assembly time, some people mention 3 hrs assembly time, but that must be if the paper actually removes, and the pieces fit.7) Main body, it's way too narrow, with all the cables, lights, etc, you have to jam everything in the middle, I had some plastic break and had to remove the lights, then rubber band things together.

Terrible sample code
I don't have any complaints about the quality of the robot itself. I think it is fine for the price, although the assembly instructions could be better. I have a serious problem with the quality of the sample code that they provide for learning how to use this. If this is meant to be an educational project, the only thing that anyone will learn from looking at the sample, is how to write bad, convoluted, spaghetty code, steal from others without giving attribution, and will likely leave more confused than they came with. I mean, this is an example of how NOT to do things in code! I have already wasted a lot of time understanding their sample, and will likely rewrite everything from scratch before I can show it to my daughter.

Good project but too tough for kids
I purchased this for my son to work with as he loves robots and has an interest in learning programming. The online instructions are not perfect but you get there. It takes time ti build and it's as easy as I would have liked, but it looks great when it's built
