Monitor your own home
I have had this system for 2 years now and I think it works really well. The reviews saying it doesn't work are miss leading you to buy this security system! It's easy to set up, easy to use and I just ordered one for my mom because it's a great security system you control.....It is hard to reset if needed, I needed to get knew router so I had to add this to my new wifi and I did have trouble at first to connect, then resetting took awhile for me to redo....I had clicked the middle button to rest her and she wouldn't reset to factory setting for me and when I got tired of trying I left her unplugged and she ran out of power and when I decided to try again she was ready to set back up for me and that went well.

Won’t work in some countries - check before you buy
The Honeywell Home app is required for this product to work but it is not available in my country. So the product is useless here.I’m returning it.Not sure why they ship this to countries where it won’t work.

Great for apartments!
I bought the Honeywell Smart Home Security Starter Kit along with the external weatherproof motion detector (RCHSOMV1 Smart Home Security Outdoor Motion Viewer, sells for about $99). I have both units installed at my apartment: the base station camera is located on a table indoors that's pointed at the entrance door and the external motion detector is mounted outside to detect & record motion on the walkway approach to my apartment door. The two of them work very well together, were easy to install & set-up, and I am very satisfied with them

Discontinuing Support
Bought this is April 2024... recently got an email saying Honeywell will discontinue support (i.e., brick it) in October 2024. Disappointing as it did the job it was supposed to do.Edit (Oct. 3, 2024): Wow, Honeywell is still selling this thing that is about to be dumped. Good job Honeywell, at least the last product point is that you have less than a month to use it. Unbelievable.

Alexa is much to be desired
Seams to do what it was designed for. Was easy to set up and get online. The Alexa speaker part is much to be desired, nothing like the real thing.
