Works great
Left my old review below, see update for latest info.It gets 2 stars because it appeared to be a decent quality. I purchased mine certified refurbished by Chauvet. Not only did Chauvet get this unit wrong once, it was still non fuctional after being refurbished. Upon plugging in the unit the fixture button indicators would begin flashing alternately and the blackout indicator would flash. Lights connected to the console were getting no signal from the DMX controller. In the process of attempting to troubleshoot I discovered all of the sliders were non functional, the screen and programming buttons appeared functional but without the speed and fade sliders working it was useless. This review is more of a jab at the manufacturer than a product review. I'm sure a functional unit is great, and as stated earlier the build quality looks good.Update:The seller (hifisoundconnection) called me and offered an exchange instead of a refund. I took the exchange and received my replacement today. The new unit works as it should. I had an OBEY 6 controller but wanted the 70 for my cheap chinease moving heads I added to my DJ system. The OBEY 6 is designed for PAR cans and isn't a wise choice for moving heads. This OBEY 70 controls the moving heads perfectly. I was able to assign the joystick easy enough, the manual is somewhat vague and hard to follow but I figured it out. Controlling the moving heads via joystick is great, far better than using a slider. I'm going to retire the OBEY 6 and use this for my PARs and other lights. I haven't played with scenes and chases yet but look forward to tinking with those settings.

Good for DJs
Controller is well built and is pretty easy to operate, but I purchased it for stage lighting and I'm having a lot of trouble getting from manual control to scenes and chases either with manual or auto control.Still trying to figure out how to get out of one mode and into the other without the lights "freezing".

Best Chauvet Controller Yet
I mostly do DJing however every once in awhile I end up doing a live production event ranging from bands to dance recitals. All events are fun in there own way. My Chauvet DMX-44 died at an event one night and I had the unit since it first hit the market back in 2004 until February 2013. That tells you about the quality of the product Chauvet Lighting puts out on the market. I decided to purchase a controller from Chauvet that had a Joystick since I own a set of Chauvet Intimidator 2.0. I also rent in Martin MX-4s and Martin MAC family of products. What is great about this unit is that you can reassign any channel that does Pan or Tilt functions and set it for the joystick. Takes a little bit to learn how to do it but once you do. Any time you need to do it you can. Another great thing is that on the page A you have channels 1-14 of control, 15 & 16 is the joystick and then on page B you have 17-30. Specially with larger units such as the Martin MAC250 Entour you need that kind of numbers of control.I have not had any issues with any parts of the unit. Make sure you keep the manual handy for address of your fixtures if you had multiplies like myself... I do have a lot of programed stuff going on so I myself have labeled my unit so I know what chases do what and also have an excel spread sheet so I can change up my chases to make the fixtures or lights I bring with me....

The joystick is not a plus
For moving heads I thought the joystick would be invaluable, turns out for my lights the joystick is not sensitive enough, the sliders were better especially having a fine adjustment, but that's mine, they're only 13 channel, you can assign the joystick to any two channels

What you’d expect
Chauvet never disappoints. Their lighting control panels always do the job.

Stopped working after a handful of uses
The media could not be loaded. Ordered this in Feb 2022 and only used a handful of times and then it stopped working. It wouldn’t even turn on. We thought maybe the power supply was faulty so ordered a new power cord but it still won’t turn on. Used the power cord on another device and that worked which tells us that the issue is with the dmx controller itself.Very disappointed as it was working perfectly fine and we were actually happy with it before it stopped turning on. We used it with ShowXpress to program lighting for dance performances. If anyone has any tips on possible fixes, would love to know.
