Nice unit. Be careful to CHECK PLUG wiring.
This item is great, now that I rewired the USB 2.0 plug. When I first hooked this up, the plug for the USB 2.0 (card reader) section was improperly wired, and it caused my system to not boot. Fortunately my board had some type of protection. Once the overload protection reset, my board rebooted. I used this picture to correct the wiring:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61HEM9Mm%2BvL._SL1024_.jpgIt was a hassle, but oh well. I would recommend checking your unit with the above picture before plugging it in.Otherwise, the unit works as expected. I connected the eSata to a Sata port, set for hotplugging. I did the same with the external Sata. Everything works great now.

Most of the ports work, I'd like the rest to work as well.
The USB 2.0 keeps sounding like there is a USB something being plugged in and then unplugged, over and over. None of the small ports work which, I assume, has something to do with the USB 2.0 sound issue. I've tried plugging the USB 2.0 cable into a different plug on my motherboard, no help. The sound goes away when I unplug the USB 2.0 cable. All my other USB 2.0 ports work, mouse, keyboard, camera, etc. USB 3.0 Works, I can't test the SATA ports or the switched outlet.

Mostly works
The good: usb 3.0 ports work, card readers work, 12v power worksThe bad: it doesn't fit properly into a 5.25" bay, removing the sata or power cord causes it to shift and move.I'm having an awful time getting the sata to workFor $25, you can probably do better

Provides excellent front panel access options
This does just what I wanted it to do. I had a dashboard with USB jacks on the front that failed and fried several memory sticks before I realized it was responsible. So I went to Amazon, picked out one that was reasonably priced and had a host of desirable jacks and features, and this was the one. It was easy to install and it works perfectly.

HANDY!
Quality item - Good packaging and prompt service - Easy to install - Works great!NOTE: Make sure you have an extra open blue 19 pin USB headers on you Mother-board, otherwise you'll need the USB 19 pin header SPLITTER or "Y" from "Frozen CPU". It's about 16 dollars, but is the only other easy way to plug this in for full USB 3.0 capability. (My Mobo USB 19 pin header was already being used for the case front panel USB 3.0 ports.)
