Gibraltar SC-GCRQT Chrome Series Quick T-Lep Clamp

Firstly, I have to start by stating that I am not a huge fan of racks in general, but I do love all my cymbals. At a certain number of cymbals, stands just get to be too cumbersome to be practical. So I went with Gibraltar for my rack needs, and overall performance has been good, but I choose the chrome clamps for looks since the black just looks odd to me with all my chrome and natural wood kit. I do have issues with Gibraltar's chrome finish though. This particular item arrived new with so many chips in the chrome plating, you would think it just came off of a world tour. It is no fault of the seller, the chrome finish is just not durable at all. I can damage and peel it with my fingernail. It has imperfections all over including runs, yes runs in the chrome like a bad paint job. The underlying metal may be the problem, it is on the soft side, there is chrome plating over top of physical damage in the part. The clamping action is good and the part works well enough, but a part of me really regrets choosing Gibraltar. I wish I went with DW/Pacific for my rack hardware. If the Gibraltar black clamp look works for you, buy those; at least you could touch those up with a black rattle can.

These last bits help me finish building my Gibraltar keyboard stand. Yeah it’s pretty nice! The only thing that I disliked about this, was that a few of the parts were not really packaged correctly, due to whoever ship this, who really should be fired, but, these parts are extremely durable and nothing was broken.

This is going to be perfect for my Cage design, using the Short stand between my Kicks, to terminate the Front end...
