I bought this lamp for my son's room to go on his dresser. I think it's the perfect size for this type of location. The fabric may be a tiny bit thin, but I still think the quality is perfect for the look of the room. It gives out a decent about of light for being such a small lamp (we use a 60 watt bulb) and I imagine it would give out a little bit more if you picked a lighter color on the shade. I purchased navy.The brushed nickel finish is quite nice and gives it an elegant feel. It was packed well and very easy to assemble. Simply screw the pole into the stand.It should be noted that the on/off switch is in the cord and not at the bulb. This was somewhat of a problem just due to the configuration of the room and the cord being placed behind the dresser. However, I purchased an outlet switch with remote off of Amazon. You simply plug in the switch and then plug the lamp into the switch. I put the on/off switch (for the outlet switch) on the wall like a traditional light switch and it works perfectly :)You certainly can't beat the price. If you need a small, decorative lamp, I would very much recommend this.

This is a cute little lamp, perfect for my nightstand. I like the fact that it's small, and especially the fact that the base is pretty tiny (but not too much, so that it would tip over). If you have several items on your nightstand, as I do (tissues, clock, candles, photo, reading glasses, book, etc), the smaller size of this lamp is a definite advantage just in terms of saving space. It's also very attractive (I have a lot of chrome and blue in my room), and I don't mind the switch being on the cord. In fact, it's probably better with a lamp of this size. Finally, my main concern was that it would be too dim, since it is small and the shade is a pretty dark color. But using a 60 watt bulb puts out plenty of light...enough to read by at night with no other lights on. And you can't beat the price!

This is a nice, little, sophisticated bedside lamp. It's not big enough in my opinion to be a table lamp. I wasn't paying attention to what kind of bulb it needed. I should have ordered bulbs for it, but I totally spaced out on the fact that this needs a candelabra bulb. It's no big deal, though. It looks nice on the nightstand. It may just be my monitor settings or something, but the promo picture makes this look a little purple. My own photo isn't true to the color, either, It really is a deep, dark navy blue, which is exactly what I wanted. I don't like the switch on the cord. I prefer to have on/off on the lamp itself, but this was more for decorative purposes and not for everyday use. A good value on a good lamp.

I purchased this one only because it suited my purpose of a cheap lamp that put off only a little light. For such a small lamp and small bulb, it puts off a lot of light and perfectly lights the area I needed only this size lamp and light in. In fact, it softly lights the whole room but keeps it brightest right where I wanted it to be.Being female, the shade made it look too much like a guy's lamp but I have since taken care of that. The wonderful thing about the way this shade is made, leaves it open for improvement by a crafty person and I personalized mine with ribbon and beads (a dollar store item that comes all in 1 piece), now it looks cute and more for a female.Also, for those like me who don't like the switch on the cord, I found that the touch switch I put on my little christmas tree also works with the lamp. The snowflake switch adds decoration and a nice way to turn it on and off without messing with a switch, especially in the early morning when it is still dark in the room. Use your imagination, I am sure you can figure out a way to make it all yours like I did.

I guess I expected something other than the "nite light" I received. I expected a REAL lamp. Not the puny lamp that uses a candelabra bulb that gives off nearly no light at all. In short, it is junk. Not something to pay $20.00 for., you could do much better at Walmart. What I wanted was a lamp that could handle a 60W bulb!It IS a nice looking lamp, if not deceiving..

i agree with the other average reviews on here. i ordered 2 for my office and they really aren't practical for that. much better suited for a bedroom night stand. they are much smaller than the picture implies but the dimensions are definitely correct so no fault of the manufacturer there.the shades are blue, but when lit they have a purple hue (only the shades, not the light itself. that remains white.. what little light they produce). 40 watt candelabra bulbs produce hardly any light so it's nearly useless for an office but i don't mind dim lightingalso agree the on/off switch on the cord sucks; located on the base would be much more convenient but that would accomodate laziness so i'll refrain from letting a cute little lamp ruin my day. they're just too cute to toss out or return so they shall stay. you'll see if you order one.one of my lamp's shades was dented during shipping but again, i'm not too upset about it. i guess i'm just in a good mood, or maybe a blah-mood where i simply don't feel like dealing with exchanging (even though amazon is awesome with it any other time)

This is a sturdy, great little lamp, perfect for desks or next to your computer. I needed something sleek, compact, and narrow in my home office space, yet also something that puts off a bit of light, but not blindingly. This lamp fit the bill perfectly.Nice brushed finish, sturdy construction, and the lamp shade isn't as darkening as I feared. The light output was actually brighter than I anticipated, considering that it uses a smaller candelabra light bulb.All in all, an excellent bargain.

Cheap and temporarily convenient. That's about it. The shades don't stay in place and their lightweight (read: cheap) construction makes them unstable.

Very nice little lamp for the bedside or guest room. It looks just as pictured, and is a nice small size for a bedside table. I would definitely buy this item again if needed.
