This has changed my life as I don’t have to fuss at the cat anymore about scratching on the furniture. I should probably change the tape more often because it does collect fur, dust and lint but it is great stuff. The double sided stickiness has dissuaded our cat from scratching the sofa and she now goes to her post more. We had tried all kinds of products and techniques in the past with no success.

PROS: In terms of what this product is intended to do it works AMAZINGLY well. I adopted a stray 2 month old kitten that I found and then immediately realized my apartment was in no way ready for a kitten so I ordered this to help make things secure. It only takes him two or three times of feeling the stickiness before he stops even trying. Example: my trash can became his favorite bed so every morning I was waking up to the trash can on its side and trash everywhere. It finally occurred to me to use the tape on it and so far it's been 3 nights with tape on the trash can and I have not woken up to a knocked over trash can since. Same goes for my shelves with decorations, and the cabinet that holds my cleaning supplies (that one is also secured with a child lock though, cant have him trying to eat lysol wipes or something dangerous like that so it gets double security measures).CONS: It is VERY sticky. I did notice one time that when he pulled his paw off the tape he shook his paw the next time he stepped on it. I checked his paws and he is fine but it is really sticky for kittens. What I've done to help is that now when I place it I stick my own hand to it a few times first. This helps get rid of the maximum stickiness but still stays sticky enough that it deters him. Hes a domestic short hair so it's not too bad, but may be more of a concern if your cat or kitten is long haired and has very furry paws. Second con is that it did take off some of the paint on my kitchen cabinets. That being said the instructions clearly say to test a small strip before using it on a large area so that one is kind of on me.BONUS FEATURES: So while this tape is intended to stop scratching, I found 2 other very useful features for it. 1: Keeping things in place. As always my kitten wants to gradually knock things off my desk and coffee table. A simple solution I've come up with is to stick this stuff on the bottom of whatever he likes to knock off and ta-da my pencil cup is now staying on my desk. 2: Keeping him from chewing cords. Behind my tv is a fair amount of cords. I did my best to organize and minimize them but he was naturally still very interested. I used this tape to bundle 3 cords together and it both helps in organizing and in stopping him from chewing on them.Overall I'm really happy with this product. Everyone who's complaining that it damaged their furniture or took off paint did not read the instructions or honestly just use common sense, the second I felt how sticky it was I had a pretty strong feeling it was gonna take some paint with it. Also the most important note to add is that YOU NEED TO GIVE YOUR CAT AN ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATIVE SCRATCHING SURFACE. Cats have a need to scratch so if you use this tape but dont give them anywhere acceptable to scratch it's just gonna be a cycle of them finding a new thing to scratch that you are also not ok with. Embrace the scratching, they need it on the same level that they need a litter box. It's not just a toy but a legitimate need for your cats health and happiness.

My kitten is staying away from the places I put the tape. My problem is that he gets under the recliner chair and scratches there. Of course there is no way I can get under there to attach tape. At least no one can see under there.

Great product for price! Keeps my cat from scratching my new furniture. Very transparent so you can hardly see it and it’s really easy to apply.

I have a crazy cat that chews plastic. He pulls the tape off and chews on it so this "cat scratching hack" didn't work for me.Also FYI the tape doesn't stick well to embroidered fabric.

Just bought a new bed and I wake up the first night to a LOUD horrid scratching sound!! I wake up in horror immediately. Bamboo!! I yelled, that's my cat... he doesn't care.... scratching continued. Ordered this product immediately and it works great. He knows something is up and won't come within a foot of this bedframe or this tape now. He is smart, if you have ever seen your cat get something stuck on him you know they don't like it, also it's kinda of hilarious.My bed is like a cloth woven type material and this tape sticks great. No complaints from this product at all.Also I love the Roll. Imagine trying to cut little 3 inch strips from sheets of sticky tape to go around the whole bottom of your bed. I'd rather not so the Roll works great.Would recommend to keep your Lil rascals in check.

Tape is very sticky but mostly to your hands not the furniture. Very difficult to remove the paper from tape. Next day all the pieces I put up fell off the chairs already. Not worth the money I paid for it.

This product will save your furnitures from your fat scratching! My 11 weeks kitten is very active and loves to scratch and bite everything she can. I put this tape on the furniture on tv stand and even the dinner table cloth..my kitten smells it once and never goes near it again! I have almost applied the entire roll and will be buying another one. High recommended!

I purchased this on a whim a few years ago, with just some hope that using this would stop the cats scratching on my damn couch. I can happily report back, that it worked! I put it over the areas that cats regularly scratched at and they obviously didn’t like the feeling, so stopped completely. I will add however, as it is tape, everything gets stuck to it. Cat hair, fluff, dust, whatever particles are floating through the air. But hey, I guess you gotta pick your battles. 🤷🏻‍♀️
