Outstanding but misunderstood product
Note, I may edit and add to this review on TINA carbon paper because I have 30 years' experience using carbon paper and want to give this company the credit and business it deserves for its unusually fine product.Currently I notice some highly negative reviews from reviewers who don't understand how carbon paper works and what this particular type of carbon paper is for. Because I am not rich and don't have money to throw away, I wish Amazon, in its effort not to "hurt a reviewer's feeeelings," would bring back the feature it used to have where you could vote a review down and not just up, and also post a comment about the review, in order to warn potential buyers that a particular reviewer is unknowledgeable about the subject.Thickness/thinness: There are user complaints that this carbon paper is thin and flimsy. It's supposed to be thin and flimsy - the thinner and flimsier, the better. This paper is exceptionally thin and flimsy - 100 sheets packed into the thin cardboard storage folder measures barely 1/4" thick. I was just plain thrilled when I opened the very, very thin package and found that the quality was right up there with some of the best carbon paper I used back in "the good old days" when customers expected (and received!!) quality. The reason good carbon paper is thin and flimsy is so that you can make multiple usable copies. On a typewriter I have made up to five copies behind my original, using one sheet for the original, five sheets of carbon paper, and five sheets of paper for the copies. (I will not get as many copies when I use it for handwriting because I can't exert anywhere near the concentrated force that a typewriter key can produce.)Storage: Because it's so thin and flimsy, carbon paper should always be stored flat and well protected to keep it from crumpling and wrinkling and thereby making unwanted marks on copies.Carbon paper is reusable if it is treated well. This paper actually measures 8-1/4" × 13", not the advertised 8-1/2" × 13", but unless you're drawing diagrams that have to go all the way to the very edge of the paper, that is unimportant. (If your diagram isn't very big, you can always turn the carbon paper sideways.) When the package arrived I noticed it said the paper was 5" × 13". That was definitely a labeling error, but the noticeable care taken with the packaging and the tiny, low-key physical company address makes it seem to me that it was not produced by a mainstream company and that's there was a severe language barrier. Most things in life are a push-pull. So it is with carbon paper. Standard typing paper (copier paper to millennials) is 8-1/2" × 11". The TINA paper is 8-1/4" × 13". The reason for the 13" length is because legal documents are written on paper that is 13" long. If you have ever seen a Court Order, you will recognize that this is true. (Just as an FYI for posterity because I am in that kind of mood right now, even though legal documents are much longer than standard typing paper, they don't have proportionately more text on the page. The reason is that legal documents are written on special typewriters that put more space between each line than on a standard document. A standard typewriter fits six lines to each vertical inch. Legal documents are written on a typewriter that uses something called a legal ratchet, which fits only five lines to each vertical inch instead of six. Note, typewriters for regular and legal use are basically completely the same typewriter. The difference is only in the manufacture of the mechanism that moves the paper up line by line.)I am using this carbon paper for handwritten snailmail and diagrams, not for typing, but I can tell that this carbon paper would work beautifully in a typewriter also. The copies it made were so clear that friends mistook the first copy for an original even though my original was 100% cotton/80 lb stock (that is a very, very thick paper, almost cardstock). The TINA paper is therefore suitable for both standard and legal typing. The drawback to the extra length is that it can be messy to work with. If you are using this for typing but have no need for the extra length you can always simply cut the bottom off to to protect the platen. (The platen is the outside of the typewriter roller that the paper rolls around. The carbon coating quickly accumulates on the platen surface, marking up the back of subsequent documents and making a general mess of the typewriter.) If you are typing onto regular copier paper but want to keep the carbon paper at its original 13" length, get ahold of a piece of 13"-long plain paper (you can reuse it) and put it behind the sheets you are working on to protect the platen.(Carbon paper usage note for people using it for handwriting for the first time: keep a couple of paper clips handy. I don't have desk space so I take two really grippy paper clips and affix them to the outside of the carbon paper storage box with masking tape, but always with the paper clips inside a tiny plastic bag because you definitely don't want the clips to get gummy over time from the masking tape and damage your originals. The purpose of the very grippy paper clips is to anchor your copies together, one clip in one corner and the other clip diagonally opposite, because even a tiny slip between the layers will ruin your copies.)

The paper is heavy so that I can use it several times. Glad that they still make it. Just buy it!!!

I loved the paper. So small and more manageable than a huge sheet.
