Very nice little product. Has support for full- and half-duplex communications and ground connector. Packaging is actually nice, with a sturdy box, an inner sleeve, and even a mini-cd-rom with the drivers on board. Device uses the FTDI chip (I didn't examine the pcb, but it uses the FTDI drivers), which is generally high quality. Auto-negotiates the communication method, so it just works when you plug it in.Definitely recommended. It's nice when your debugging equipment doesn't need to be debugged itself.

I've used it to commission Maxon Smartlink DS actuators via Modbus and it worked perfectly and effortlessly. I'm using Win10. You need to know how to change port settings in Windows Device Manager, but that's not hard. I like that it comes in different lengths. The little terminal converter is super handy. I have recommended this to coworkers. The cost is nothing compared to the time and effort it saved over commissioning these actuators using their built-in 5 button keypad.

These work great to communicate with industrial equipment. We have purchased several now.

Seems to do the job. FTDI drivers on Linux talk to it just fine.

Exactly what I needed, seems a little pricey though..

Looks like a well built product but the driver disk did not work with my Windows 7 machine. There were files on the disk but the computer didn't recognize the driver files and I didn't know which ones to load and where to load them to. No drivers on manufacures website
