Well written and easy to follow
I think it’s a solid read on what could be a difficult or even dry, for some, subject. Only thing is though the fundamentals are there this is a book published in 2005, which is pretty ancient by tech standards. So some of the protocols mentioned are outdated, maybe obsolete for today. I think that’s something to consider.

Quick delivery and better than described.
This book arrived only a few days after I ordered it. It was described as good, but it was actually in excellent condition. The pages were clean and the spine was in excellent condition. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great book for learning how internetworking works
As a developer who wanted to understand how the internet works, I found this book to be a very good resource. It starts by giving a good overview of internetworking, a history, and the fundamental concepts make internetworking work. It goes on to describe each protocol that makes up internetworking in detail. It doesn't go into unnecessary low level detail, there's plenty of other resources for network administrators and experts. It is very complete covering all important low level protocols and many important application level protocols.I had a few minor issues that prevented this book from being my bible for internetworking. One is that the book is relatively old. While most of the technology hasn't changed, how we perceive the internet has. The way we conceptualize internetworking may have changed. The usage of certain protocols may have changed and thus the emphasis that should be placed on each protocol may be different. Also, the book is large, over 1000 pages. There's enough information and detail that it could possibly be used as a reference book. Because of these issues, I found myself skipping around and trying to figure out which sections of the book were important and essential to read. I was always afraid that I might miss something. The book can be found free online, but as someone who loves books and likes to have physical copies, especially for books I appreciate, I was happy to buy it. If you're someone like me who's looking for a comprehensive introduction to internetworking, I'd also suggest Internetworking with TCP/IP Volume One (6th Edition)

... who spends most of his time doing mundane tasks like virus removal
I'm an IT professional who spends most of his time doing mundane tasks like virus removal, data backups and basic networking so a lot of the knowledge contained in this book may be things I never or rarely use in real life. However, I'm always trying to push my knowledge further and I'm very picky about tracking down the right books to read and keep in my library, and this one is immediately in my library now.I would classify this book as a "comprehensive introduction" to TCP/IP. I know a fair deal about TCP/IP already from my work, but this book goes WAY beyond that. It's a giant book, 1500+ pages into the appendices and it covers a very broad swath of material.EDIT: After going through the contents of the book more thoroughly, there are many illustrations that really explain important concepts that I personally need to review from my previous readings on TCP/IP like the OSI layer model and the specifics of bit placement in relation to addressing. This book goes really in depth in parts and I'm very looking forward to digging in! You will get your money's worth. Maybe too much information, but I'd rather have more than less.I would say that this book should be in your library and is a must buy for people wanting to dig into TCP/IP to understand how it all works. No hesitation recommending this book.

Objectively Useful
The author is wordy. Could be written more concisely without loosing information or accessibility. Regardless, it'd be rediculous to give this book less than 5 stars. There's no other recourse like it.

Simplesmente A Bíblia do TCP/IP
Recomendo.

Awesome! Must Have!
This book is fantastic, I thought about the price for ages at nearly £70, was it worth it, YES! Due to the high rating and limited reviews it said to me that only people seriously interested in the topic would spend this amount on it and therefore the reviews are honest and the book good. If like myself you are studying any of the Cisco/Juniper certs and/or work for an ISP, this book is invaluable. It teaches you about internet protocols and goes in to great understandable depth. I believe anyone with any level of experience can learn from this. I wish I bought this first before all my other books which go over the total cost of this. Combine this with a Cisco/Juniper certification guide (official) and O'Rileys Network Warrior and you are set! This will set you apart, here's why; the study books will teach you the venders way and implementation to pass exams, Network Warrior teaches you real life scenarios with configs from small sites to large sites and equipment (6500's/NEXUS/ASA) etc in detail and then this bad boy tears down every protocol so when you debug or are faulting you know what part of the process is failing and why. Yes certification will teach you this, but you learn how routers and computers really talk to each other in a much greater depth. I recommend the hardback as its MASSIVE!!! So in summary if you want a book that covers everything and are serious about the subject get it!! If the thought of understanding how LCP and PPP work together in detail so you can get a PPP sessions bores you and you're satisfied with the fact it just works after correct configuration, this ain't for you!

Super book
After being out of the loop with networking for sometime, I was able to sync up with most concepts in about an hour of reading this book. Very clear explanations and diagrams, I think the author is a genius because most networking books I read either ramble on or don't have proper diagrams. This book has both, to the point explanation with diagrams, that's all I need.If I remember correctly this book is available for free but after browsing through this on Google Books, I just felt compelled to pay the author for making my life so much easier :)

Testo fondamentale, completo e chiaro.
