When it first arrived, I almost returned it because the box was slighly crushed and the stencil was bent in places. It wouldn’t lie flush against the wall, even with spray adhesive and I was afraid the fine lines and detail would allow bleed. I decided to go ahead and document the application so I could return the stencil with evidence of its defects. But, low and behild, the results were stunning. I think using a dark blue paint on a white background helped as I could use only light pressure to apply the paint. I also modified the stencil slightly with painters tape to allow me to stack one application above the other. I couldn’t be more delighted!

I was very happy with the way my bathroom wall turned out using this stencil. I have experience using stencils, I recommend practicing on cardboard to get a feel for applying the paint. This will allow you to decide on the "look" of the painted stencil too. If you want a modern look, use with paint that is solidly applied. I wanted an Aged/Timeworn look to my stencil , so I applied the paint almost dry and lightly applied the paint. The directions that came with the stencil were very helpful.
