Great book for general music
I bought this book as a resource for my middle school general music class and was not sure how useful it would really be, thinking I may give it to an elementary teacher if it didn't work for me. Although I teach middle school, most of my students did not have any background in reading music and this book breaks down the concepts into nice small chunks. I have used this book much more than I anticipated and my students like it. I would buy this book again (not something I say about all my resources).

excellent for who wants to learn music
I am a self thought from the high school times when I was playing in a band and now that I am an old man I wanted to learn to read music and I think this book/course material is excellent if you want to learn and start from zero. very easy to follow with increasing difficulty exercises... very good book, I do recommend it!

Nice when you don't have other resources.
For what it is, it does a good job. I used this in a district in which I didn't have access to a computer to photocopy worksheets for my middle school music students. I'm now in a better district and don't use it anymore, but it served it's purpose.

Pretty Good.
Pretty good book for beginners. There are some lessons that are not thorough...2 pages is just not enough to explain key signatures or how time signatures work. You will definitely need supplemental lessons for those pages to reinforce learning. As long as you supplement the book with your own lessons it is great as a curriculum guide.

Perfect for 4th grade and up
Our school's music program was getting started, and these were so easy to reproduce and use as handouts and homework. My students mentioned it was a good help for them while studying the recorder.
