My daughter was showing off her new dance board after class the other day and it was getting some attention. Our one dance dad decided that he wanted to run some Consumer Reports style testing to see if there really was much of a difference. We were all pretty surprised by the variation in quality across the boards. We were the overall favorite so it fell on us to report what we found.Ours was the Dance 360 wooden board. Everyone liked the fact it was made of solid wood and didn’t have any ridges like the plastic boards do around the foot pads. It was also the fastest and seemed to be the strongest. Our dance dad even took a spin and it held him easily. The name brand plastic turning board was a close second and pretty easily beat out the other plastic boards we tested. After those two boards, quality and performance were all over the place. The plywood board spun well and was strong enough, but no one really liked the feel of it. Some of the plastic boards just went flat with the parents while some performed pretty well.At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Not surprisingly the more expensive boards performed the best. If you are looking at these two brands, it came down to personal preference between natural wood or plastic, both are solid performers.

I just want to say that this product is just amazing! It's speed is incredible, faster than any other spin board on the market! But with that said I feel that this product has to be used in a precise type of surface if not it will have definitive friction or completely remove the slippery gloss finish and take on anything that's on the floor. I tried different surfaces including wood and I felt that it gave me too much friction until I tried it on some old tiles in my backyard that had paint on the tiles and as you can see it passed on to the board. I feel like maybe they should recommend a list of surfaces that give little to no resistance for optimal spinning. Other than that, great board!

I bought this because the description specified that it works on carpet. It doesn't, really. Maybe if you have a thin, commercial-type carpet without a pad underneath? Since the entire house is carpet except for the bathrooms and tiny kitchen, i put down a piece of plywood for my daughter to spin on. Unfortunately, the bottom of the turn board is now terribly scratched and pitted after just using it two or three times. She wanted to take it to Grandma's house, since Grandma has hardwood floors, but I wouldn't let her because I'm sure the damage on the underside if the board would destroy Grandma's floor. I guess I should have bought a piece of hardwood floor, or sprung for a different product. :-(

I'm using this to work on my one foot spins for ice skating and it's PERFECT. One day of use and my spins have improved so much. The curve of the board almost perfectly mimics the curve of a blade, so it helps build balance awareness. The wood is amazingly sturdy and even held my 200-lb dad. My shoe size is a 8.5 in women's and there's still about 3-inches of length left on the board. I haven't tried this on carpet but I'm sure it would work well. It works incredibly on tile! The only surface that didn't work was on foam work-out mats, but then again they are designed with traction in mind. I'm not sure if this would be very helpful for dancers as it encourages you to wind up your spins, but I would absolutely recommend this to every figure skater. This board has a permanent place in my skating bag!

Bought it for my daughter who is a figure skater. Really helps with her spins. More useful than your average spinners made from metal and lightweight. Fits in her bag easily and does not scratch the floor. Highly recommend

My daughters love this spin board! It is very durable, and it is very effective in helping them perfect their spins! I definitely recommend this item. Don't waste your money on the cheaper version.

A lot of money for a little piece of wood but it has been worth the investment. My daughter's turns have improved since using it.

Purchased 2, and glad I did! Kids have been arguing over who gets to use it next. Excellent quality. Has definitely helped my two dancers improve several spins and their core balance in record time!
