If you know how the window is constructed, these are really easy to install. Watch some videos on it. Once installed, these operate super smooth. I had the house built over 15 years ago and never remember the window being this smooth. Once you get the tension right (watch the videos or count the turns when removing the old ones) they are two finger operations to open and close. Buying another set for a second window.Second set installed perfectly and work just as well as the first. Had to give them a couple extra turns to tight the load balance to account for this window being 50% larger that the first.

While I believe the product do be good, I've held off on a 5-star rating because of length issues. I'll not be critical of the product because it could simply be an issue with my understanding. I ordered the size most closely conforming to the original. In this case, there was 1/2" difference in length. The issue I found is that it doesn't hold the window as high as the original equipment. Perhaps I should have ordered one a few inches shorter but then, perhaps, the window wouldn't close all the way. Nonetheless, the product works well. It's made just as well as the original equipment but it does appear there is a difference in the amount of tension it generates.

These are great springs....but buyer beware....it hard to find the fasteners to add the shoe clip so I would buy these springs with clips already installed.

It was time for replacement, easy install and the window operation is like new. Will be getting more for the rest of the windows.

The part package came open and bent. The box was not damaged. I was able to bend the part back and make it usable.

We took our chances and bought this, not knowing much about windows. It was sooooo easy to install. The directions were clear and easy to follow. I wish we would have bought it years ago! We can now use our window!

Replaced the balances on a window that was very hard to open and these new balances made the window operate like new! Now I need to proceed with replacing more windows in my house.
