Nice kit to update old stuff
Bought as a test unit for building in modern functions to old radios. This is a nice kit, but might be too much for beginners. Use the instructions in the linked QR code that comes with it for details and pictures. Connected to my phone right away and looks cool.

Put together and sounds good.
Great project kit and is a fun little thing to have around.Had all parts and instructions were decent.Bought an 18650 battery and holder to power it.If I wanted to put different speakers in what could I use? What is the wattage of the driver on this board?Loses EQ setting every time it's turned off but it's a very simple thing.

Nice Kit
I built this for my Grandson and he loves it. Kit is well-engineered and goes together without much difficulty. Instructions are good. Interestingly, the LED panel is an isolated component. Other than power, it has no connection to the rest of the device. It has a microphone and picks up sound from the speakers and even from ambient sounds if they're loud enough. Interesting way to do it and seems to work fine.

Beware! Parts are poor quality.
I bought this, and it took me a few months to find a time to assemble it. After four hours this evening of getting everything put together—the acrylic case is a huge pain by the way—when I pushed a button on the front panel, the button assembly itself broke backward, into the case. If I try to push a button, the whole assembly moves back since the plastic connection broke clean off on one side. I had to disassemble the case to see if I could reattach it, but there’s nothing to attach it to, and at this point it would be weakened anyway. I am past the return period and I’ve now wasted an entire evening with nothing to show for it. The kit is pretty well designed, but the parts are so cheap and fragile it’s rendered mine useless.

Tough instructions, case is challenging to assemble.
This was a challenging project. The case took as long to assemble as the soldering. Instructions were pretty bad, and you need to be really careful and double and triple check what components you have before you solder them. It took me about 3 hours, and when I was finished it worked. I gave this three stars because the “analyzer” is really just a mic attached to the LEDs as a sort of volume meter. I thought it would be directly driven by the audio from the media. Also, the sound is not very good, but I didn’t really expect it to be. I pretty much just got the kit to practice soldering. It is also fairly small.

Good little radio, but check your parts
The radio works and works fine. Sound is decent as well. However, I had a bit of a scare moment when I first attempted to power it on. Instead of getting music, it turned out the polarity of my DC socket was reversed from the one in the instructions. Desoldered and swapped them and it was fine. No idea if this is a fluke or common, however. There is one part that despite all appearances, instead of plugging something in, you cut off the plug and solder the wires to the board. I cut mine too short and had to install the LEDs upside down. (Oops.) However, I noticed they give you a little socket that doesn't come up in the instructions. If you knew the step in question, you could probably install that socket to the LED board and then solder the other side of the wires to the main board, and not have to cut those wires.Other than that, wish the kit included a telescoping antenna for some situations (some similar kits do), but that's just a nitpick on my part.

disappointed
it could be 5 stars, but it's not working. Any troubleshooting ideas?
