Works well, iMac installation somewhat convoluted but instructions complete.
Bought it reluctantly since some negative reviews.Looks similar to ElGato my previous converter, now lost.Using iMac installation instruction were complete , more involved than ElGato’s software but works well, captured as MP4 as good a quality as expected for VHSPrice amazing! Paid close to $100 for ElGato, this works the same so much cheaper

Works great if you follow directions!
Worked perfectly. The initial set up took a long time. I used a Lenovo computer, and installed PotPlayer and followed the directions very carefully. It worked great and I was able to upload the videos to a flash drive and on YouTube. So much cheaper than other options. I actually purchased another brand and this one was WAY easier and better quality. Did the job for much cheaper than it would be to send my home videos into a company.

this unit works better and easier than the cheaper unit
I both a unit ofr $10, and this unit for $20 to compare them. This one operates much easier and better than the cheaper unit on my Mac. I returned the cheaper unit.

Works great, but instructions are wrong.
Overall works great, plug it in and start going. But if you are experiencing degraded picture or lag/slip of audio, lemme help you out.I'm on a PC using OBS to capture it (they tell you to download OBS which is correct). The difference is you do not want to set the resolution to 1920x1080 (only if you are digitizing something that is HD, and if you are using this chances are you are digitizing old VHS tapes which are probably SD) meaning that you want to set it to 720x576.For the audio it says use "output to desktop audio (direct sound). This for me gave at first an echo (because it was hearing the audio) and then a wicked lag when I muted the speakers. Instead use "capture audio only" - you wont hear what is being recorded, but it will be in sync.hope this helps.

Worked perfectly
Five stars for the device. I saw a lot of complaints in the reviews, but the problems were with the software settings they were using, not the device itself. I used OBS Studio and was able to digitize some old tapes that I never thought I'd see again. Fortunately, the old VCR held out long enough to make it happen! I took off a couple of stars because the item was advertised as new, but was clearly used. The RCA cable was in the original packaging, but it smelled like cigarette smoke (nothing else did). Clearly not new, probably swapped with the one that was originally in the package.

works great
The media could not be loaded. A little skeptical at first because of the cost effective price, but this little gizmo works great. I just wanted to put my old VHS-C videos to digital/DVD. I have so far completed the early 1990's and still working on the rest of the years. The device is super easy to use with just connecting it to the VCR and then to the computer. I have a desktop that has a CD/DVD drive, thus I capture digitally and keep on a flashdrive as well as make a DVD for the older folks (like my mom). I downloaded the OBS software (free). I have windows 11(don't know if that matters). It is time consuming but I have the time. Flaws are sound is not too loud, so I record with my speakers on high, and the words don't match the lips (slightly). I am ok with that because truth be told haven't watched these old videos in years. I am so glad to have these digitized and at my fingertips now. Downloads as an MKV file, but you can convert to MPG pretty easily. Hope this helps

Seems to be a scam
I received the product along with a card with phone #s to call if help is needed. Help is needed as nothing happens when plugging into my Mac. Calling the phone numbers listed is even worse. I only get voicemail with absolutely no mention of the company I am calling. There is a "manual" that is attached, but again it doesn't even discuss setting this item up. It's easy enough to plug in, but the Macbook doesn't recognize it.

Works Great on Mac
I was hesitant to buy this because I wasn't sure how well it'd work on a Mac. Also Amazon had a warning that said this is a frequently returned item. I'm happy to report that it works exactly as it should. I plugged it in (using a USB-A to USB-C adapter) and it immediately showed up as an audio and video source. I opened up Quicktime and clicked "new Movie recording," a window popped up, it automatically had this item as the video source, I clicked "usb audio" as my audio source and hit "record." It worked exactly as I'd hoped. I'm in the process of digitizing lots of old camcorder footage and am happy to be saving the money that I otherwise would've needed to spend to get a transfer house to do it for me.
