Runs Quiter Than The One It Replaced
I purchased this spindle as a replacement. My other 500-watt spindle failed. I did not want to put anything on my machine that had less power, so I replaced it with this one. I installed it the day after it arrived. If fit my machine perfectly. My dust shoe screw holes even lined up. After installing this spindle, I needed to finish a bit holder project I had been working on when the original spindle failed. This spindle handled the job perfectly, as can be seen in the pictures.UPDATE!!!!After completing the bit holders shown I did one more. After that I started surfacing a pine 2x6. I was only taking .5 mm passes. After the 5th or 6th pass the spindle just quit working. I checked the voltage coming to the spindle and it was correct. The spindle completely failed without making a sound or and smoke. It just quit.I did request a replacement in the event that I just got a bad spindle. It is supposed to be here in 4 days. I hope this one last longer than 3 hours. At this time, I cannot recommend this item until I can see some real production out of it.

Brush part failed
Only test ran for 1 min. Then a loud crack. Looks like the brush holder failed and launched the tension spring into the Armature.

smooth running
This is the 500 Watt rated spindle motor only with no motor driver included. It does included an aluminum mounting bracket an a collet for 3mm (about 1/8 inch diameter) shaft router bits. A collection of 3mm router bits are included. You can buy a set of EM11 collets to take other size router bits if you wish. The motor seems to be smooth running with little vibration running about 18vdc.So this looks like a good option for upgrading from a 300w motor if you have the motor driver or will upgrade that on your CNC at the same time.

Powerful and quiet
I’m slowly building a cnc router. And this spindle motor is an essential part. I could have paid much more, but I decided to take a chance on this one. I’m glad I did. While I haven’t finished building my controller and gantry, I did test out this spindle motor and the bits that came with it on some scrap hardwood. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and quiet it was. And it cut through the hardwood with very little resistance. I can’t speak to how this will perform on other materials yet, but so far this feels like a very capable spindle motor for a very reasonable price. The motor will operate at less than the specified 48 V DC, but not as smoothly as with higher voltage. I tested it on a variable DC power supply and I think it started rotating at around 20 V.The aluminum mounting bracket that’s included is very tight. I had to pry it apart gently in order to slide the spindle motor into it. But once I tightened it down, it held very well.Overall, I am pretty impressed with the spindle motor!

Nice motor kit.
This is a pretty sweet motor thaat has plenty of power and is quiet. The mounting hardware that came with it is pretty nice and everything was easy to get set up . The bits that come with it are a very nice touch. I tested this out on some oak and it did great , next up will be Aluminum.

Heavy duty upgrade for the desktop CNC
This is a nice upgrade to the stock motor. Built in fan. It is powerful but not too loud at all. The included tools are pretty basic but nice to have. I had to power it with a separate power supply in my setup.
