I got a similar product for my cat scratching posts but found that it came in precut rectangles- so there was a lot of waste in trying to cut to fit and having odd bits left over. This came in one long roll so that you can cut to fit and get more bang for your buck in terms of not having so much wasted material when you are using it.It is a nice lightweight material and the adhesive backing is sturdy- I am using it to replace the poles on my cat tree that had sisal rope wound on it but that my cats have shredded and loosened so that it is not very functional and not very attractive. I don't know how long this will last but when it is shredded off it should be easier to replace.

My cats, and dogs, had torn apart a scratching pad on a cat tree we had and I've been wondering what to do with it becuase it looked horrible. Ordered this and after cutting away the old carpet over the plywood added this to it. Easy to cut/trim to size and peel and stick works well for sure. The Cat tree looks a lot better than it did before but none of my 3 cats have used it for scratching since its been on (a few days now)...so this would for sure protect furniture but not sure if it encourages scratching.

This is a nice roll of thinner carpet padding for covering pet areas like pet furniture, stairs, scratching posts, perches and rest spots. Polyester fibre is durable, carpet is easy to apply as it has peel and stick backing. Depending on what it's applied to it may need some extra adhesive - for example on a round post - or may need stapling in place (make sure staples are not exposed), or could be framed in. The grid on the backing is in increments of half an inch, carpet cuts easily. There is no bad odour to the carpet or adhesive backing which is important to me and for pet safety. I'm using this roll for some wall mounted shelves. The dark grey matches other pet furniture we have in use and I would order more for other projects where I need thinner carpet.

My kittens have started using the sofa arm as a scratching post so I applied some of this scratch fabric to the arms and so far it's working. It came in a roll and the backing is marked for easy cutting. It has stuck to the sofa arm good so far. I tried the vinyl protectors in the past and they just didn't look as nice as this fabric. There was no odor when I unrolled it and there is enough to use on other projects. It actually doesn't look bad on my sofa and hopefully it will prevent the cats from shredding it.
