Not a whole lot of variety in the lights, but not bad overall
Standard disclaimer for LEGO lighting kits: Though it should be obvious from the product listing and description, if you buy this product you are ONLY getting the lighting kit and not the set that is pictured. The only parts that you will get are additional/different ones needed to properly install the lights. The lights included for this kit are kind of limited in their colors- you get only pink/purple and yellow lights. However one thing I do like is that all of the LEDs are 'embedded' in parts and none require the use of adhesive strips- this is nice because it means if you want to take the set apart after putting the light kit on you can do so easily. It also means that it's easy to use the lights on other sets (which is what I like to do).The instructions are accessed via a website link in the included booklet and by entering the model number of the lighting kit. The instructions are, as is usually the case, pretty good and thorough. One nice thing is that you don't have to disassemble that much to install the lights. As usual, if you can put the set together in the first place you can also install the lighting kit.The kit can be powered one of two ways: with a 3-AAA battery pack that is included (but the batteries themselves aren’t) or the USB-A plug which will let you use any USB power source to power the lights (meaning you can also plug in a number of sets into one USB hub or a power strip and turn them all on or off together). All of the lights worked just fine in my testing, so there shouldn’t be any problems unless you aren’t careful and manage to break one of the very small wires on installation.

Versatile lighting set that can be used with other sets, but takes some trial and error.
This is a review for the Rorliny lighting kit for LEGO set 77071 that I actually used instead for lighting up one of my larger modular builds, City of Lanterns. Since the set I was lighting is a much larger set, I actually used several lighting sets in combination.Includes:- The package does NOT include the Lego set (a common misunderstanding based on the poor reviews I've seen). Just a note for anyone considering this kit.- The package includes a battery pack and USB-A cable for powering the lights, a plug-in bar to connect the wires, and individual light elements. Batteries are not included but the kit uses 3 AAA batteries.- Instructions are available online in PDF or video format via a link printed on a card included in the box.Experience:- I did not reference these instructions as I have experience with using these kits and was not using it for the intended kit. I honestly found this slightly more enjoyable than following instructions because there was some planning and trial and error involved without need for reading any instructions. However, for use with a larger modular build like in my case, it can be challenging to figure out how ot lay out all of the lights and have enough wire length without having too much leftover wire to have to hide.- The LED elements are embedded in Lego-compatible pieces, which you attach by sticking them onto existing pieces in your build. You then wrap the wire around parts of your build, leaving minimal slack as you go along. Wrapping the wires this way minimizes their appearance in your final model.- For using them for a different model, I started by staging the pieces without wrapping any wires, then tested lights and only started wrapping wires after I was ready for my final configuration.Tips:- Only use this kit after completing your model.- Trial with different ways to hide the wire by threading it through different pieces, wrapping them around different structures many times until the wire runs out.Quality:- The wires and their attachments are delicate and fragile but they are more durable than I expected. As long as you don’t tug too hard on the attachment points or plugs, the wires hold up well.- The pieces fit well with Lego and snap on easily.Value:- This is a fairly pricey lighting set, almost as expensive as the LEGO set itself. For some, it may be a hard sell due to the price. However, for certain sets, particularly city-themed sets like my application, I think the lighting really enhances the visual appeal of the set and brings the sets to life as a statement piece.

could be very nice
I misunderstood what was being sold, and thought that the lego llama was included with the light, but it is not.

Easy to Install
This light kit was SUPER easy to install and put together. I especially like that it came with both a battery case for AAA batteries or a USB plug so you have options. Assembly was super easy peasy.

First time lighting a LEGO set, some struggles but still enjoy the result
This light kit is added to a completed LEGO build with some minor dis-assembly required. It comes with three strings of LED lights fused to clear LEGO-compatible pieces, and your choice of a USB connection (to use a power brick or outlet) or a battery case for 3 AAA's. The wires and connections seem to be fairly durable and of a fine gauge. Instructions are online as either a PDF or video. I found the video to be easy to follow. The PDF is comprised of stills from the video with some annotations. Some wires are covered at some point by a brick or tile, which causes just a bit of extra gap between those pieces. Other wires are left exposed, which I did not like. I ended up adding extra plates from my collection under the tail and on the ears to anchor those lines. My biggest frustration with this set was in having to dismantle parts of my build in order to install the lights. I had difficulty working with tiny wires and not a lot of slack. I would have definitely preferred build-as-you-go instructions. Still, I would definitely consider buying additional light sets from this company. And I definitely like how the final result looks.
