I was a bit leery buying an aftermarket, made in Taiwan part, but I have to say that this starter is working just fine on my Sears/Kohler riding mower. It couldn't have been more easier to install. Remove the hot wire, remove two long screws, remove the old starter and then work in reverse with the new one. My tractor fired right up!I did have one problem though. After the mower was running for about a minute, it suddenly shut off on its own. After doing some checking, I discovered that the fuse in the mower electrical system had fried. A service tech at a local engine repair shop (who suggested I check the fuse) said the fuse probably burned up because it was old, and the new starter's power overwhelmed it.A quick drive to the local auto parts store to pick up a small box of fuses did the trick. Once the fuse was replaced, my yard girl was humming once again.Granted, it's only been a day now and a few start ups since I got the starter, so if anything bad happens soon I will definitely do an update here. So far, I have to say I highly recommend this starter!

When my Cub Cadet XT1 46" mower wouldn't start, I removed the starter (original). I was surprised to find that the gear had broken off the stud. This was puzzling to me, since the mower is only a few years old.I found this replacement starter on Amazon. Less pricy than OEM and two day delivery.When I went to install it, I found out that the replacement starter is about an inch longer than the original.However, it fit and works perfectly fine.Great purchase.

Years ago I bought a starter for my 1983 Goldwing from DB Electric . I was impressed with the value of the starter and how well it worked . Initially I thought it didn't , Because the Head Gasket was leaking AntiFreeze and HydroLocking the motor , The same reason the original starter burned up was destined to happen to my new one . Once I figured out the problem , The DB electric Starter turns my Goldwing over like a champ to this day . Now when my Cub Cadet LT1050 25 horse Kohler Garden Tractor was acting up , I was excited to see that DB electric had a starter available . Now , This Tractor has NEVER started what I would call EASY ..Even when it was NEW , It always seems to struggle . I even took it in a couple years ago and had the Valves adjusted , which helped Minimally , Still would clunk , click , then eventually it would work . Last Month I bought a NEW battery hoping the weakness was the Battery . Nope .. SO my last resort was a NEW starter . I received it in a timely manner , Installation takes a few minutes , And LET me tell you this , That Kohler motor starts the second I touch the key . I have NEVER heard that motor start like that EVER . Its gotta be faster than the OEM starter , or at least way more powerful and quieter , But the real test was when I went to start the Motor after it was HOT , and this Starter passed the test with flying colors . Do not hesitate to replace your WEAK starter motor with this one . I know I've got a few years on my DB Electric Goldwing Starter , and I hope this one is built as good as that . It appears to be built Heavy Duty . If it doesn't last , I will update . But for now I give this starter a 5 star rating !

Good starter but only last two years before the spindle portion breaks. We use our cub cadet lawn tractor a lot so the starter gets a workout. One positive thing is that the starter is easy to replace. I keep a spare on the shelf so when the inevitable happens, I'll can quickly replace it and have very little down time. I gave it three years for durability since they fail too quick.

My old starter would not start the motor when it was cold out. This one worked good in all temperatures. The bolt holding the Bendix gear fell off after 7 months. Fortunately I had saved my old starter and re-installed that. I was happy that I purchased a starter with a 1 year warranty and contacted DB customer support. I provided my invoice from Amazon and a picture. I received an e-mail saying Amazon would honor the warranty. I called the Amazon customer service number they provided and was told to go to the supplier/manufacturer. I have written them back, but have not heard from them since the original direction they gave to contact Amazon. I will update this review if anything changes. Because it only lasted 7 months, and they seem to currently not be honoring the Warranty, and I had to install the old starter to get the mower going AND I had to take the cover off the motor (7-8 additional nuts and bolts) to retrieve the parts that flew off the top of the starter (I did not want them bouncing around and causing damage) this really should be a negative 1 star review, however that rating is not available.Update 06/23/2022: After several calls I was told that DB had a contract with Amazon to handle the 1 year warranty. Amazon is sending me another starter. I had to find a customer service person in Amazon who knew of the contract. Raising review to 3 stars because the first failed so quickly. Hopefully the replacement will be better....

Great fit didn't take 10 min to install on my cub cadet 1050 lawnmower

Over the past few years I have used four of this brand of starters. Three have worked fine, one quit working after a year, bent shaft. Just a chance you take, low price over the cost of original equipment.

It is an exact replacement. It has worked perfectly over the last few weeks with over a hundred starts as I have been using the garden tractor as a utility vehicle to tow a small trailer to move stuff around my acreage with many short runs rather than running it for two or three hours on one start when I cut the grass. It is much quieter than the original starter in which the rubber damper had completely failed, followed by the shaft eventually breaking. The biggest bonus was the fact that I got the replacement same-day (on a Sunday). I needed the tractor Monday morning to help with a landscaping project I was in the middle of.
