Language Disorders in Children: A Multicultural and Case Perspective

I used this textbook for an undergrad Communication Disorders Language Disorder class. The author wrote the book as a user friendly resource. It is easy to read and easy to understand. She includes numerous real life examples throughout each chapter and her explanations of the disorders are fairly in-depth, compared to some books I have seen.The only drawbacks to this textbook was that in certain chapters it seemed to be more of an elementary level Special Education textbook than an in-depth Communication Disorder textbook, especially regarding the Autism and ADHD section.In my experience my professor didn't utilize this textbook as she could have. I found this textbook is a good edition to a SLP's collection of resources.

Although the chapters are VERY long, this is one of the only text I have enjoyed reading in both undergraduate and graduate courses.

I understand this is a rental but the book arrived to me falling apart. The front cover is missing and part of the book literally fell out when I pulled it out of the package. Thank God I am only needing this book for a couple months but there is no need for this book to continue on to someone else like this. It's pretty tore up.

Excellent book. Good overview of the language development. Book is written in an irritating, "best friends" tone and the boring "personal" stories by the author should be skipped over. However, because the book is so comprehensive that I highly recommend it.

This was a required text book for a graduate level class. I kept the book, as I do all textbooks and I have actually referred to this one in practicing speech language pathology.

It was a new book that was cheaper than the used price. It was the text the professor required and arrived in a timely fashion. I would recommend it to any student who's class requires its purchase.

Very good book that explains language disorders in a detailed and well-laid out format.
