Homax, Ceiling Premixed Texture, Popcorn Texture, 2.2 L

I had used a Homax pre-mixed popcorn repair mud once before and the texture was much finer and there was a significant difference in the texture. This dry mix package is more expensive, but there will be no waste as you can mix just the amount needed. Doing so is easy as mixing drywall mud: add water to a container, add the dry mix and stir. The size of texture pieces are a close match to my 1984 built home's ceilings. The mud is very easy to apply using a drywall putty knife. This container will cover lot of square feet, way more than I needed, but I will have plenty for the next ceiling repair job.

It arrived with the cap on but no seal underneath. The mix was about 3 inches below the cap. It was too thick to shake up but was pretty well mixed anyway, so I decided since I needed to get the repair done to try it. The bottle said coarse, but it was a much finer product than my existing ceiling. Maybe a medium. Between testing and applying to ceiling, ten square feet total, I used about half the bottle, but it looks decent, even if the textures don't match very well. It's a guest room that doesn't get much use anyway. Would not use again. Dry mix it yourself product is more trouble, but you can control the result better.

Tried the spray can stuff. Didn’t get good coverage. This stuff is messy but works great. Used a roller and did 2coats on a bathroom Ceiling. Don’t bother w the spray can stuff. Not worth it This is what you want.

Easy to use, looks great

First photo is of after and second photo is before. It many need a second coat but very pleased with it. I put it on with a puddy knife and it worked great. I did 2:1 muddy:water. It will need painting afterwards.

In the midst of doing a bus remodel and I wanted a house like look to cover a mesh metal ceiling.Used a roller brush and it worked like a charm.It covered the entire area nicely which is about 240sqft I used almost the whole box with just a little to spare. So I would say it accurately covers 250sqft. It was easy to use and apply and this stuff cleans up easy as well
