Works Perfectly
This product made the replacement a breeze because it included the ear speaker - already attached. IMPORTANT: This is a difficult repair as you must remove the battery, system/logic board assembly, several metal shields and the rear/back camera/flash assembly to get to the power button/proximity sensor assembly. However, if you take your time and keep track of all of the parts and fasteners - it goes fairly smoothly. My advice is to purchase a good iPhone tool kit (under $10 on Amazon) which makes disassembly/reassembly much easier. If you are not a "hands-on" person then have someone with that skill set perform the replacement for you. If you are not afraid of a challenge then go for it! Allow 2-3 hours for the entire process - don't rush it.

Gave my 4S new life, can delay new phone purchase a little longer....
Lock button on my phone had stopped functioning and the google helped me figure out I needed to replace this item. Worked perfectly. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the price.Tips: As others mentioned, find a youtube video and follow it. It will require extensive disassembly of the phone and great care around all the small bits. All the fasteners are very small, so use something to keep them organized and secure; a magnetic pad, tray, or something like that. I used a sheet of paper and labeled/grouped them as I disassembled. The Good: The replacement comes with new ear speaker and ribbon adhesive in the right places. Some instruction videos show transfer of these items from the old piece. It is nice to have not needed to transfer. The Bad: The included pentalobe driver stripped during reassembly, but luckily i was replacing the back cover at the same time and the included driver in that kit was higher quality.

Part worked exactly as I needed it to.
Item worked without a problem. Perfect replacement for a Sprint iPhone 4S.The teardown was a bit of a pain, but it all went very smoothly. One thing I would like to see changed on a new revision of this part is more flex in the ribbon cable that goes under the earpiece speaker. Otherwise it was just great!

Perfect replacement component that I never want to have to install again
This is the hardest phone component I've ever had to install, and I've been cracking iDevices and other phones open for surgery since the 2nd generation iPods. This sensor and switch assembly is REALLY hard to install... requiring wrapping the ribbon cables around the speaker in a very specific way. Think gift wrapping a tiny box with highly sensitive, easily torn and insufficiently pliable paper, while being careful not to cover it's sound-emitting parts, keeping three separate extensions oriented correctly and then installing it in a way that allows enough slack for each sensor/switch to be placed correctly with the ribbon cable routed where it needs to be, but not too much slack, since that could cause a crimp or tear on reassembly. Seriously, I've replaced batteries, screens, home and power buttons, motherboards and cameras in phones and this piece takes the cake. Unless you are as confident and foolhardy as I am, skip this repair and upgrade your old phone or pay a specialist to do it for you.All that being said, the part fit and worked perfectly, and the phone was put back in service.

Not pleased, poor product quility
I received a defective part. I have previously performed this repair twice in the past with parts from ifixit.com, and had no issues. After troubleshooting everything I could think of, I replaced the original part and it worked but required a factory restore, so all the information was lost. My advice: pay the extra to get the item from a place like ifixit

Spot on.
Fantastic! First off, changing out the power cable/button/earpiece assembly is a serious PITA. If you don't know what you're doing or are not someone who likes to tinker with VERY small parts, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS REPAIR! That said, if you are like me; someone who isn't afraid to dig under the hood and repair your own phones, this is a challenge you will enjoy. I was expecting to get the assembly without the button bracket or earpiece, which would have made this repair much harder. But the assembly came WITH the bracket and earpiece! No trying to get those parts transferred over to the new assembly! Once in and powered up, all the components worked great. I tested the proximity sensor using an app called Gathered. One word of advice: make sure you save and organize ALL the parts when disassembling the phone and DO watch youtube videos before hand.

Power button was ok, but no foam gasket included.
Power button was ok, but with no foam gasket the proximity sensor is not working and ear volume gets affected.Foam gasket is needed to reinstall the Proximity Sensor. The original ear-speaker is also glued to the foam gasket, but this spare-part do not include that foam, so, the volume gets affected.

Perfect replacement for iPhone 4s
Perfect replacement for iPhone 4s, only thing missing (and all cables seem to come this way) is some adhesive to allow the speaker to stay in place on new cable, but just use some thin double sided sticky tape. Took about two hours to install, lots of steps, but great YouTube videos to walk you through it. Just make sure you order the pentalobe screwdriver (Wiha - Pentalobe Precision Driver P1 x 40mm - 26761 ) to open the case, have a good 0 Phillips, and layout all screws in the order you remove them.
