A classic
A perfect book to revisit as often as possible. Easy to read, easy to use and easy to bookmark. I'm just trying to hit the word count, but really you can't go wrong owning this book.

The Best Guide
Dad gave me my first copy of this wonderful writing guide, many decades ago. It was in the late '50s, I believe; a plain paperback edition. And over time, it actually took, where all of his many prior efforts to interest me in writing well, had sadly come up small. I was into science.Perhaps what appealed to me was that the book was so succinct. Mind you, I always loved reading long novels. But that never included long text books. Ugh! They were dry, and lacked a story thread. But this book got right to the point.Though many authors have tried, there is simply no superior, nor as succinct a writing guide for communicating well in the English language. But don't take my word for it. Just check out the endless chain of editions of this wonderful book, many of them published long before the internet was ever conceived. Generations of English language experts have thereby paid due homage to Messrs. Strunk & White. They couldn't beat it, so they published updated editions. This book was first published back in 1918, just over a century ago! And, it is still going strong. That is how good it is.

An important update and review of writhing style
I was taught English in the 50s and 60s, and had not heard of this book. Now in my 70’s I have found this a succinct review of the essentials of writing for effective communication to the reader. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially one who is seeking to pass on lessons learned in life.

Additional chapters are useful!
This “classic edition 2018” is better than the original book in three aspects:1) Contains updated grammar rules. Let’s face it: language changes over time, so this is helpful.2) Contains new chapters. For example: Chapter 3 - rules of capitalization, and Chapter 7 - style rules for better writing3) it has a study guide at the end, which summarizes key concepts for each chapter.Very useful as a reference material.

Newly updated long loved little book on writing.
I read the older version of this book which was fantastic. It's been updated now and changed and added to. Fantastic book for learning writing tips. This is a must have for taking writing tests at college, for brushing up on your grammar. Lots I knew, but some good refreshers.

If you write at work I highly recommend you use it. Trust me when I say everyone notices when you make a grammatical mistake in your writing at work.

Basic Grammar for Aspiring Readers
Stephen King recommended this book. I am still working through it but lots of helpful review of grammar and sentence structure. Good reminders as you will forget some essentials!

It's not the same, but it's not bad
I give this book a hesitant 5 stars. As someone else mentioned, there is a typo or two; however, it sticks to the ethos of good writing and the importance of grammar in one's writing. The original was more succinct, but so much has changed in the written English lexicon, that I do believe it's worth getting this book. Note, I also use and review the updated AP guidelines. This version of The Elements of Style is not always aligned with the AP guidelines, but it's a matter of style versus hardcore grammar.Yes, Stephen King references the importance of The Elements of Style, but his referent predates this updated version, and so he obviously could not have meant this version edited by Richard De A'Morelli; however, I still recommend it. Either version, you won't be harmed.Long story short, get it. If you can afford it, I think it's worth the money.

アカデミック英語の入門書
内容は非常に役に立つ内容だと思いました。アカデミック英語の入門書には、ぴったりだと思います。特に、文法的には合ってるけど、おかしい表現、あまり使わない表現が具体例と共にわかり易く書いてあるところが個人的に気に入ってます。内容:・ELEMENTARY RULES OF USAGE・ELEMENTARY PRINCIPLE OF COMPOSITION・BASIC RULES OF CAPITALISATION・A FEW MATTRESS OF FORM・WORDS AND EXPRESSIONS OFTEN MISUSED・SPELLING・STYLE OF RULES FOR BETTER WRITING・STUDY GUIDE個人的にこんな人にオススメオススメしたいです。
