Bartolini8S Precision P-Bass 4-String Replacement Pickup NEW

It can be a difficult decision to make when you are looking to change the pickups on a guitar.The options are endless and the brands are close to that also.I was very fortunate to get to play a friends bass that had these pickups on it, so it was an easy decision for me.First you know that Bartolini makes great pickups. You just have to decide on what style of sound you want to get out of them.I wanted a more vintage sound without being "hot" or sharp like the modern pickups tend to be.I play with flatwound strings and the treble down a bit so I'm not into the real clear and bright bass sounds.These are more than bright enough if you leave the treble control up but they don't have any negatives with the bottom end either. Very good bottom but not overdone. Actually a very well balanced sound.I like the fact that they are blades instead of individual poles so that is a benefit all by itself.Perfect fit on my P Bass and simple hook up. When installing you need to look at the bottom of the pickups because they are marked with a "B" for bass which goes toward the lowest string and a "T" for treble which goes for the higher strings. You should be able to read "Bartolini" correctly when looking from the bridge. Simple.Overall I am very happy with the sound of these pickups. They give me everything I want and some so they are pretty versatile for a "vintage" style pickup. I can't imagine anyone not liking these unless you wanted the bright modern pickups and didn't do your homework. :)

What can I say, these pick ups bring all the growl and thump. They are well worth the money.Easy to wire in.If I have any sort of complaint it's that these pick ups are HOT. You have to dial the gain on your amp back. But this isn't a real complaint more of just something to get used to. It's where that growl comes from!

Sounds good. Has a very clean and precise vintage-style sound. I found them unusually clean and bright for pbass pickups but still retaining a high quality vintage sound.
