Unreliable bulbs, unreliable vendor
On 04-28-2013, I ordered 28 of the 7000k bulbs for use with my recessed ceiling fixtures throughout my house. Since I do not enjoy climbing a 12-foot ladder, I thought these bulbs would last longer than my ownership of this house.Shortly after installing all 28, one of the bulbs died. Torchstar replaced it for free, but I had to ship the defective one back to Torchstar first at my expense, before they would send me a replacement.Since then, many more have died. One has completely burnt out, five have become very dim, and one has begun to constanly flash, about 2-3 pulses per second. I climbed the ladder and removed all seven.I have never had this problem with CFLs. ALL of my CFLs have lasted for several years, and the purchase price is a fraction of LEDs. The brightness of the illumination is comparable. I will be jumping off the LED bandwagon. They're too unreliable to be worth the extra cost.Additionally, Torchstar is selling products having questionable quality. Torchstar has already refused to replace the other 7 bulbs that have proven to be defective.LED bulbs: buyer bewareTorchstar customers: buyer beware

Not what it claims
I really can't recommend this product to those looking for a less greedy light bulb. It is dim, but manages to have a glare to it.

I too have many stories like that with several brands when they hang inverted in ...
To the guy who had 7 failures in recessed lights...I too have many stories like that with several brands when they hang inverted in a pocket of their own heat. I don't like that these are not UL rated and wouldn't trust my home leaving them on unattended as I've already had a few like these get buring hot as well as cfls catch fire

they replaced it after I sent the bad one back
I bought two of these. One failed, they replaced it after I sent the bad one back. I just bought two of another brand. We are in the process of changing many of our lights to led bulbs.
