The Field & Sport Precision Knife Sharpener is a portable version of the Wicked Edge with the Pro-Pack II hardware, a precision engineered, manual sharpening machine. It was designed with very exacting standards to consistently deliver an incredible, razor sharp edge. While the results are excellent, it is easy to use and does not require special knowledge or skills to use.

(1.5 year ownership review)
They raised the price to 399$. Very hefty for what you get. Sure it works really well but 399$ is very steep.600 grit is too rough for me, will need to upgrade (that's how they get you) 600 grit is still good enough for most task. It's the second gen with the ball in joint system. Comes in a nice foam insert case. There's a Chinese knock off version of this somewhere as there are knock off versions of apex pro. Costs like 65$ , I saw a YouTube review on it, has too many things wrong with it. So I bought this for 299$ before the price hike. Welp until they lose their patent or the Chinese create a better copy. This is it. 5/5 for performance (I have several Japanese whetstones but got tired of trying to create even edges on curved blades) but I give it 4/5 for price vs what you get. But after looking at YouTube vids of lansky system, Apex pro, worksharp, vs wicked edge . Wicked edge wins out, they know it too, so that's probably why it's an arm and leg for a knife sharpenerEDIT: after owning and using this for 1.5 years now, itโs held up. The diamond stones have NOT dulled out. This is USA made quality that we have heard of. I spent about 6-8 months making my own chef knifes from nearly scratch and used this system to get it to 16 degrees for each customer. They also dropped the price back down to 299$ so Iโll them 5 stars now.Iโve also bought the 50/80 grit stone to reprofile the angle on some blades, and also 800/1000, and 1500/glass back for super fine 0.6 micron attachments for mirror polish. Works very well. Superior to many other sharpening systems in terms of ease and accuracy.I fully stand behind this product

What a disappointment
Wow! What a letdown. Completely over hyped and comes with a set of stones you will NEVER use. I could have used my 80 grit 4" grinder and done less damage to the blade. I noticed that no one on YouTube is using the stones it came with. Now I know why. I do not recommend this product. Way overpriced for what it does.

Functionally sharp.
Sticker shock. That's the first thing you will encounter when looking into this system. It's not cheap. But nice you really think about it, it makes sense. I have at least a dozen knives in my kitchen. I've already spent this much on them having them "professionally" sharpened over the years. And when the shop I was taking them to started to do a lousy job, what good was the money being thrown at the problem? Does this get them as sharp as they need to be? Yes. Just as it promises, it puts a wicked edge on your knife. Comparing this to the Work Sharp belt sharpener, it's a thousand times better. The next thing you are probably wondering is if WE200 is enough or if you need one of the upgraded systems. It likely is. Unless you are an obsessive geek who mistakes a knife for a straight razor, you don't need a mirror bevel. It's a cute trick to show off to your equally obsessive friends but that level of refinement is not only unnecessary but you are likely to lose that edge quickly with normal use. Maybe you upgrade to the 800/1000 stones but it's not really necessary. This provides a functionally sharp edge. The clamp mount of the WE200 allows you to use it in a variety of places quite easily. My only criticism is that it does not deal with small knives well. If you have a paring knife or a boning knife that needs sharpening, you will need the adapter to deal with shallow blades. But any chef knife or utility knife will become tip top with this system.

Wicked Edge Field and Sport
I couldn't see myself spending more money on the pro pack 2 just to have the unit mount to the base. What they don't tell you is the sport has a hole drilled in it at its base right where you would put the c-clamp. I was happy about this cause now I had a way to mount it with less work. I used scrap plywood, old 2x4's and got a cutting board from Ross Dress for Less. Found a few bolts and mounting everything together. Now I have a system I can take with me if I needed or can leave semi permanent on my craftsman tool cart. with the money saved I was able to pick up more stones and strops. Great system, amazing results.

Best big boy toy ever
Best big boy toy ever.It takes some time to learn, but the knives are SHARP.Trial and error - I started train on crappy knives first.I got extra 800 and 1000 grit stones and digital angle gauge. Will get even finer ceramics.

WE Field & Sport
It's easy to set up. It works as advertised - the knives get really sharp! I am very happy I finally bought it and 'retired' my other sharpening systems.

Five Stars
Simple to use but flat out works. It is expensive but in the long run worth it.
