This is a TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING TO FIND YOURSELF ROPED INTO THEM REQUIRING YOU TO EITHER UPGRADE INTO THEIR HIGHER PRICED SOFTWARE OR THEIR VALIDATION REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE AN ANNUAL EXPENSE...NO PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE OPTIONS, DELAYED RESPONSES VIA EMAIL AND NO REFUNDS ONCE YOU DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE VIA THE LINK THEY DIRECT YOU TO WHEN YOU OPEN THE PACKAGE. It is to file a formal complaint and to request either a refund OR a free upgrade into the software version that allows us to bypass the "validation requirements" that the software we were directed to download with our purchase. The reason that we feel our request is reasonable is due to the failure of reporting to consumers that there are additional purchases required in order to print check or that they were going to be annual renewals!!! The descriptions of the two packages we purchased failed to notify consumers of those facts. Nor did it mention that the only way to avoid these additional purchases is to purchase upgraded software that enables you to bypass the validation feature! This is what I would consider False Advertising or a Bait and Switch gimmick to lure customers into purchasing your product and then having no options of recourse because of your wording in your refund policy which states that once the software is opened or downloaded there are no refunds. The problem or the catch to this is that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY for consumers to know that this issue is going to exist UNTIL THEY HAVE LOADED THE SOFTWARE ONTO THEIR SYSTEMS AND ATTEMPT TO PROCESS A CHECK!!! THEN IT'S TOO LATE....NO REFUND OFFERED!!!! That is a SCAM and I am confident that there are laws to protect unknowing consumers to recover their costs after being ripped off with the initial purchase.Oh and to top off this joyful roller coaster ride, I just went onto gValidate to attempt to print checks for the account that I did validate and found that we are unable to print checks because when we were paying the additional annual fee requirements that you failed to notify us we would be required to pay, they added additional equipment onto the order and when I caught the mistake less than an hour after it was placed and contacted them via email to request that they adjust the order to reflect the order without the equipment, we were notified that the entire order was cancelled and refunded and we would need to reorder the services. The problem with that is that we are now not being offered the same introductory prices that we were originally offered and the account shows as not being able to be validated and it shows as expired!!! This is a FREAKING JOKE or a NIGHTMARE!!! You choose how you wish to define it! If we are not able to get this resolved I will be contacting every agency of authority I possibly can that has jurisdiction over your company and licensing as well as our Attorney to recover our costs, including my time! Not to mention that I will post on EVERY CONSUMER ALERT WEBSITE I CAN FIND exposing the scam that your company is pulling on the unknowing public.Here is my concern, I have looked all through the VersaCheck website and descriptions of the products and nowhere in any of the areas that I looked do I see anything informing me as a consumer that I am going to receive software that is limited and going to require additional purchases in order to complete my task of printing checks in-house. The only exception is that I would need MICR ink or toner and a compatible printer in order for banks to accept them. Which I purchased. In my opinion it borderlines false advertising. It's very similar to a bait and switch. You advertise that this will package will provide everything you need to print instantly and then when the consumer purchases and loads the software they are informed that they are required to make additional purchases prior to being able to print the checks. Either pay for the registration of gValidate or pay to upgrade into the full version of the versaCheck software. Of course there are no refunds for opened or downloaded software so the consumer either is forced to pay or eats the cost of the purchase they have already made and look elsewhere. I would very much appreciate this case being forwarded to a member of your Management Team for review and for them to contact me. Preferably by phone to further discuss this situation. I would very much hope that I should receive contact from them today. Thank you for your many attempts at assisting me in this ridiculous process.Also, please note that the reason I am so frustrated by this whole situation is due to the number of Bank Accounts our companies hold and the reason for our deciding to process these in-house was to save costs by printing our own checks. With the process that this requires, the costs involved would be far greater than if we had just purchased pre-printed checks for each of the accounts. This process requires annual purchases and renewals for each account unless we upgrade to a higher software which is another purchase... I do not feel that is a logical expense and now with all of the time and money already spent to get us to this point, not to mention where we will be on costs in order to complete the process, we will have far exceeded the costs involved in ordering checks. That is unfair to us as a consumer.

I on 7/23/2013 purchased this because we have several accounts with our small business. It is now 11/8/2013 and still are not able to print out these checks.What I was unaware when purchasing these checks is that you cannot just start using these checks. Purchasing this is not enough, this check printing requires one to enter information that shouldn't need to be given out such as how much $ is in each bank account being used by these checks. Keep in mind we didn't purchase this as an accounting software, all we want to do is print out our checks!!!!! We have accounting software to keep track of how much is in each account. I find this very peculiar and unnecessary information just to print out checks.Our office personnel are technically knowledgeable people. We have spent at least 40 precious man hours attempting to use these checks. We typically don't have a problem with most business software, We have been able to network our office, go paperless throughout our service company, set up a server and an intranet within our company. Although we are not "IT" people,do we have some knowledge.Today, talking to technical support, I told him I couldn't believe it was this difficult just to print out these checks. which he said. it gets much more difficult further into the program. Bfore we were completed and still not able to print checks, the tech support ended our call saying he has spent enough time with us. WHAT?What we experienced was their tech support has an attitude that we are inconveniencing them. Both times we contacted them, they were rude and extremely impatient. It appeared this was an attitude, within their company.After complete frustration we give up, we're done. We want to warn others about this program. Hopefully we'll help others not to fall for this, unless you have a whole lot of time setting it up, don't mind giving much unnecessary information about your company and a nasty technical support division. If I could I would give this company a NEGATIVE 5 stars.In the event, after reading this review, you purchase this program anyway and have the same frustrations we have had, please come back and comment. RIPOFF PRODUCT, Deceptive licensing, poor software
I should have known better, see the bad news at the end. This requires software provided by Versacheck to put in the bank template (account number, check #, etc.). This then installs a device driver that Quicken can use as your check printer. There were multiple problems with this software: 1) The software comes on a CD (none of my laptops have CD reader/writers). 2) the directions to download the software from the Versacheck website were extremely confusing. You are required to not only have a Validation Code but an activation code. 3) The software failed with an uninterpretable error message when I actually attempted to print from Quicken. 4) I spent $30 to purchase 30 days of unlimited support. 5) When I attempted to contact support, I discovered that the phone number is always busy. 6) Back to the FAQ, there is an online contact interactive support and you eventually get to talk to a live person. 7) The front line support was useless. I got bumped to 2nd Tier support. 8) 2nd Tier did not know why the problem occured but in the process of the "known good steps" from support, I closed the Versacheck software before running Quicken and it worked well. A competent error message would have saved $30. NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS. The license is only good for one year! If I fail to print all 500 pieces of paper as checks in one year, the license expires and I have to buy a new license (there is no way to do this except by purchasing a new pack of paper). Each license only prints 550 pages so I can't use a new license for old paper. This licensing restriction is NOT mentioned in any of the product advertising or information on the box. This is a total ripoff. Don't buy it.
