TREND15 Piece Router Cutter Starter Set, 1/2 Inch Shank, Tungsten Carbide Tipped, Storage Case Included, SET/SS9X1/2TC

I purchased this set on Nov. 30, 2019. Today, Nov. 29, 2020 I had a project that required using the 1/4" Straight bit. I drilled a hole in the plywood since I do not have a plunge router base for my Porter Cable 890 router. The first circular pass went well. I was routing less than 1/4" into 3/4" plywood. Upon lowering the bit I proceeded to route a second pass, again this time less than 3/16" in depth. The bit lasted at best 5 inches before it broke off inside the collet. Needless to say, I waited far too long to even attempt to use these bits to ask for a return/refund. I will attempt to contact the supplier to see if they will stand behind their product. Not holding my breath. Update:Dec.8,2020.I received an email today from Trend stating that a replacement bit is being sent. They do stand behind their product.!!

I would recommend for any beginner who wants to get a selection of different bits to experiment with. These are good quality too. Also the 1/2 inch shank or shaft is reassuringly solid feeling, but do check that is the correct size to suit your router.

This is a great starter set of 1/2” router bits, the case keeps everything together and in good order, my only gripe is the case tends to hold the bits on the cutting edge in some cases which will either get chewed up over time from inserting and removing the bits, or maybe blunt the cutting edges a little?

The set itself is a good value, and provides good selection of bits at affordable place. At this point I used all of them at some capacity.Unfortunately one of them broke (bearing failed) on the first use (straight trim bit) - but upon contacting Trend support (via their uk website), they were very quick in dispatching a replacement, equivalent bit. This is the kind of service one expects, and what makes me want to stick with that brand for my woodworking tools needs (where available).thanks again Trend!

I received these and I was shocked to see the way this had been packed, the sticky illustrations that told you what each bit was for was stuck to all the tools, first time I’ve had a bad experience from trend.

The media could not be loaded.  Diy'er who buys for quality over price. Trend TCT 24pc router starter set. The router bit I had been waiting for in the set arrived with bent shaft. Had I not inspected it first, used in router, it would have been very dangerous at the high speed a router works at. It would no doubt throw the router all over the place as well as destroy the workpiece. Shame on Trend. Would not expect this even from a cheep router set. However, Amazon sending replacement set without quibble, top marks, so here's hoping it's a one off from Trend. The rest of the router bits seem very sharp, well made and good storage case.
