How I chose this lamp: - I purchased this lamp after swimming through reviews on just over 15 other similar LED lamps. Most of the lamps I considered were TaoTronics as they tend to have a very strong following with many positive reviews, not to mention they have been praised as some of the brightest LED desk lamps you can find for under $50.00. Those two points were most important to me: Less than $50.00 and must be a bright LED array.Why I chose this lamp: - As a painter of miniature models, I need a lot of bright white lighting in order to see paint colors and how they truly appear in tone and color as I apply them to a model. I previously had a small LED desk lamp and a tall fluorescent halo lamp that I could use overhead and move around as needed. I started to realize there were a lot of shadows on my models and I was constantly trying to move the overhead lamp around to get better lighting, but that just made shadows elsewhere. The fluorescent lamp just wasn't bright enough. Seeing these LED desk lamps with the long arrays online, I immediately decided that this might be the solution to my problem. A long array with a nice, even light output would provide for a better area of coverage than my previous lamps, which this TaoTronics lamp promised to provide. If you look at the pictures I included, you can see the difference in lighting. Now, for full disclosure, the room was fairly dark when the pictures where taken and the sun had not come up yet, so there was little ambient light in this area. Also, it is important to note that I did/do not solely use this lamp. I use all three lamps to provide as much light as possible, however, it is still very obvious how much brighter the desk area is with the TaoTronics lamp on. The light from this lamp outshines my previous lamps as opposed to simply being washed out like dim headlights under street lamps.What I like: - This lamp has five brightness settings, which I am a big fan of. The lamp also has four different color variations ranging from a soft amber, to a light yellow, a bright blue-ish cool white, and finally a bright daylight white. That being stated, I just use the bright white setting at level five. The base is more than heavy enough to prevent this lamp from ever becoming unstable or falling over. The touch sensitive controls are very responsive and intuitive. The cord from the adapter plugs into the back of the lamp and is out of the way. The USB charging port is not something I cared one way or the other about, however, my phone is typically sitting on the desk as I work and this allows me to charge it without running another cord to the outlet. The armature height works very well for my needs and seems to be a very good desk lamp height. The slim LED array allows me to place light over my work area without having a light fixture either hitting me in the head, or blocking my view of the models I am painting. This is a big one for me. The fluorescent halo lamp I have been so dependent upon for years is always in my way when I place it in a spot that offers the best lighting. The TaoTronics lamp offers a great area of coverage while the slim design keeps it out of my way, and it still provides much better lighting than I had previously. Lastly, it is quite bright. The LED array on this lamp is too bright to look at, but when looking at the lamp from any angle other than right up into the array, it does not bother my eyes at all. Of course I am not going to be staring into the LED array because it's lighting my desk, not me.What I don't like: - My biggest point here is that while this lamp is very bright, I could personally use one more brightness setting. While this is not really a gripe at all, I just find there may be times where I might want a little more light, however, this lamp is very bright as it is and I do like that. Another point is the lamp's armature. You can move the lamp through variations of up and down or forward and backward, but you can't swivel or rotate the lamp head itself. I don't find that to be a big issue, personally, however, I realize there are some who would. My final point here would be about heat. The very top of the lamp (the back of the LED array) gets hot when running at full brightness. For anyone has has any experience with high intensity LEDs, that shouldn't come as a big surprise as they can generate quite a bit of heat. The plastic cover on the top of the lamp is vented along the center line, similar to the design of the middle section of the armature. Even so, it gets hot enough to the touch (though not so hot you can't touch it) that I am a little concerned about shortening the lifespan of the lamp if I run it max white/bright all the time.Overall I am quite happy with this purchase. It does what I need it to do very effectively and has made me realize just how poorly lit my work area was before I purchased this lamp. If you need a lamp that can light an area, such as a desk or worktable, efficiently then look no further. With a price point of under $30.00, you get more than you paid for here, in my opinion. It provides a nice soft light you can use as a nightlight or an absolutely bright daylight lamp for a desk, work area, reading, ect.

I bought two taotronics different models . I really loved this lamp for its quality and pretty built but unfortunately it has started to switch of lately very frequently on its own. And then I have to unplug and start it again . It’s weird. I don’t know how to contact the company and if it matters . But be aware I bought it July 7 and dec 18 I found it not working well. There are no kids in our home. No one misused it . I amStudying for an exam thats all I use it for “To read on my study desk” maybe it’s a one time incident with someone but this is my first hand story.Hope it helps othersI got the replacement lamp and they were very courteous to send it ASAP . I am very satisfied with my investment in the company so I changed my review to 5 star as their customer service is great!

This is not what I expected to buy. I needed a lamp that didn’t take up a lot of space, but could really illuminate a work area. Really needed 2, but this was so non-traditional I decided to buy just one and see whether I liked it. BIG HIT. The brightest mode is great for working, but the warmer light is better for when I need to light myself up for a Zoom meeting to balance the light from a north-facing window. The warmest setting, which is labeled “sleep,” I find the most comfortable when working after dark. Really love this lamp—and I did buy a second one, so we didn’t have to fight over it!

Very nice lamp pictures don't do it justice MUCH BETTER in person. Truly like the different easy touch Features just as sensitive as a cell or touch screen pc. The Base is Nice thin but is heavey like a lg paperweight and non skid bottom, Slim design all around open and close lamp head only bought 2"wide Has a 60mm button, power on/off at the bottom then a sleep button, relax button, study button, reading button and you can adjust the brightness either up or down button. Slim/sleek overall Design. You can adjust what level you need this light to be at when not in use just close the light strip and all you will see is the base and a 2" straight line. Most definitely unique and stylish design. You can get it in either Black as I did or a white. I am enclosing several pictures for you to see. I Truly do Like this Lamp oh and it even came with a cleaning cloth you can turn the top/ light into most any direction you choose. Amazing and it has a bonus it even has a USB charge port you control the brightness. I had enclosed several pictures showing different settings and it is just this light that is on. No Gimmicks and NO Photo Enhancements just my cell with No Flash when I have this Lamp on. I LOVE IT :) Extremely HAPPY to me is Well Worth FAR More than 5★ NO NO NO It's Much More 50+★★★★★★★★★★ HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Orignally, I bought this as a task light for the control room when doing shows.I've had this light quite a long time now. For me, the two main puposes are to follow scripts and operation notes in the theatre control room, and for a work light when soldering. In the control room, lighting must be subdued so the warm light allows for good readability without ruining essential night/low-light vision. When soldering, the cool white is great for visibility and the capacity for high brightness can make small fiddly jobs with high wire denisty much easier to work on.Also, it looks very sleek and has gained some appreciative comments on style alone.I found that despite the ability to fold, it is not so convenient to transport because the base doesn't fold against the rest of the light. As a freelancer, having a task light I can rely on and carry with me is important because I never know what on-site lighting will be available until I arrive. Nevertheless, being able to select a colour temperature and brightness means it functions well for its two main purposes.

I've had my lamp for about 9 months and I LOVE IT! My mum loved it too and we bought her a black and white one for her to hide in her small apartment! I don't ever collapse mine because it's on my desk but she has them in her living room and bedroom folded down and they are so unnoticeable!!

Guys this is the ultimate in lighting accessories! You may be thinking 'Eh ,it's only a lamp' and you'd be both right and wrong! This fella is the all rounder,I am a model builder/painter and require a high standard in lighting for my hobby and the 'Study' setting is perfect for this.I like to read and there is a 'Read' setting which is bright enough to read without being harsh or glaring.For chilling we are also covered with the 'Relax' setting.And finally the 'Night' setting for nipping to the loo without stubbing your toe on the door but not bright enough to disturb your partner.Thats the four settings taken care of but wait! You can also adjust each of these up or down (X5 increments) to find the light that suits you perfectly.This is indeed a wonder lamp, it is fully adjustable as well and can be spun 360o and pivoted too very handy! And it features both a sleep function where the light will auto out after 60 minutes and also a 5V USB charging port so you can attach your mobile or tablet and listen to your favorite talking book without running the batteries out! This lamp was bought for hobby purposes but after discovering its many features I may have to pick up a couple more! You wont regret buying one of these. I'm super pleased!!

This is a brilliant lamp and excellent value. It's bright on Max setting and nice white light. Each setting adjusts the tone slightly and each modes brightness can be adjusted. It's solid, with a slim profile and heavy base for support, it folds against itself when not in use to save space and looks smart too. The lamp extends and swivels to give maximum coverages.I have used for computer work, reading, puzzles jewellery making, sewing and model work.This is as good if not better than more expensive equivalent lamps. Very pleased.
