Works well if directions are regarded.
I believe that it is important to be able to read the outdoor temperature before planning your outdoor activity. Very nice feature shown as well as time.

Large numbers, easy to read from distance
I have had various brands of atomic clocks for the past 20+ years but this is the first Sharp brand for me.The numbers for the time display are large and easy to read from across the room. This unit has dualsensors and is able to read and display the temperature of both indoors and outdoors which is a featurethat I wanted. The outdoor sensor transmits temperature readings to the indoor base (main clock) by wayof a radio signal so there are no wires to run. The clock itself is relatively easy to program or set-up.Like most atomic clocks this one receives a radio signal from "NIST" (National Institute of Standards &Technology) in Fort Collins, Colorado so it keeps very accurate time. You can display this clock by eitherhanging it on a wall or on a shelf using the fold out "kick-stand" in the back. Over all it's a nice atomic clock.

Easy to read, cool display
This clock was easy to set up, easy to read and I really like all the display options including having an outside temp sensor. My only complaint is that the "atomic" part wouldn't work when I set it up. It wouldn't automatically set and outside temp was wrong i had to reset a million times and even left it overnight like it says and it still wouldn't set atomically, so I finally had to set it manually. It's been good sine then and the outside temp seems pretty accurate so I'm good but was initially unhappy with it not setting itself automatically at first. To say it sets itself by the atomic time and "never needs setting" is a lie, sorry. I was very frustrated with it at first cuz it didn't set itself by the atomic clock I had to set it.

A Great Product
I have to say that it is great to know exactly what time it is without having to go online or on your smartphone. I particularly like the indoor/outdoor temperature. It is a very useful feature to have. I have had to change the battery at least once so far. Not really an issue. The setting buttons can be temperamental and not intuitive but I guess that is what the instructions are for. A great non-intrusive tool to have.

Not looking too good on the first day. Will update review soon.
I wanted to upgrade our LaCrosse unit to something a little larger, and easier to read at a distance. From the online dimensions, this Sharp unit seemed to fit the bill. Then amazon delivered it to my home and ...The first thing I noticed is that it was packaged for a supermarket shelf - without any protection against being thrown around by UPS. That is, the package leaves the large LED display face completely exposed to impact. There are a couple of adhesive pieces over the display to prevent scratches, but that's it. The cardboard packaging only protects the back and sides of the unit. There is no cardboard cover over the actual display - it is wide open. Looks pretty, but useless for protecting the item during shipping. So if something sharp pokes through the front of the thin delivery envelope, this display will be toast!Thankfully, mine arrived in what appeared to be good condition, but then a second roadblock appeared. I put batteries in the transmitter, and that went OK - it has a blinking red LED to show that it's working, and that lights up every once in a while, just like a smoke alarm. But, the main display unit was dead. I must have put the batteries (good ones!) into the main display ten times or more. Nothing. Completely blank. Pressed the RESET button on the back several times. Still, nothing. Then, after taking out the batteries and putting them back in one more time, it finally lit up! But I noticed that once I moved the unit somewhat abruptly, while mouting it on the wall, the entire display went blank again! Then after a little while, it lit up. So I very CAREFULLY set it against the wall, and it stayed on. Much too sensitive to movement, in my opinion. I kind of wonder if something is loose inside. No rattling, but it will reset or go blank with the slightest amount of jiggling. Now, after all that, the time and temperature are displayed. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the time receiver is working (starts after ten minutes of being turned on, and then again at 1 am, etc.). But, now comes the final hurdle. And most disappointing of all - the master display is dim - very low contrast! Noticably less contrast than the LaCrosse unit. For example, this Sharp unit has black digits against a dark grey background, while the Lacrosse unit has black digits against a bright silver background. So, even though it is about 25% smaller, the LaCrosse unit is MUCH easier to read in low light conditions.I'm leaving it up for now, to see if my wife can even read it across the room. I can't, but perhaps she can. We'll see - and then I'll update this review. In closing, I'd say that if you don't mount the Sharp display in a brighly lit room, you won't be able to read it unless you are within five feet of the display. If you are farther away than that, and it's twilight, forget about it!

Clock died after only a few months
UPDATE: 9/21/2020 - This clock never ever worked correctly with the outdoor feature. It would never connect. Now, as of today, the clock has totally died, and of course it is outside of the return/customer service period. I would never recommend this clock to anyone! It is a waste of good money.I blame myself for not returning it when I first got it and it was not working with the outdoor feature.I bought this product for several reasons: The large font, easy to read from across the room; the fact it does not have to be wall mounted, it comes with a "kickstand;" and the fact it has an outdoor sensor so you can see the temperature outside as well as inside. Unfortunately, after looking over the instructions that came with it, I never found anything that said I could mount the outdoor sensor wherever I wanted, so I sent an email to the company. I was told that "As it states in the instructions" you cannot mount the outdoor sensor where it will get wet or in direct sun. The whole point of the outdoor sensor was to mount it OUTSIDE. I have nowhere else to mount that sensor where it won't get wet or snowed on. So, even though the clock is a good buy, don't count on being able to use the outdoor sensor.I found out that the outdoor sensor does not work. Even when I have it sitting next to the clock. the temperature from it never registers. I suppose it is just as well, since I cannot use the outdoor feature anyway!
