Supply Chain Network Design: Understanding the Optimization behind Supply Chain Design Projects
A**)
Excellent - real world experience and necessary theory in one.
I've done a lot of network-design work and consider myself to be an expert. Had I had this book from the start, I may have got to expert status a lot faster.Note that while the authors (all from IBM) have extensive experience building software products to help you do supply-chain network optimization this is not a sales brochure for LogicNet. They lead you, step by step through the process, adding in complexity one layer at a time, until you have a very sophisticated model.Managers who hope to become better buyers/consumers of network-design projects may want to skip the math sections and can do so without missing key points. For analysts actively involved in building optimization-models the mathematical formulations are extremely helpful. Even if you choose to build models with a software package that tries to hide the math from you, the guidance around data and the art of modeling is worth the price and the time to read it.

Good book on the subject
One of the best books on the widely misunderstood topic, well written and gets better to the end with the summary chapters on the practical aspects. The tool with the examples might not be an easy to comprehend but all you really need is to understand the concepts which are explained well.

Awesome book!
This book addresses practical problems in supply chain network design. The authors are experienced and provide very useful tips regarding data aggregation, "what-if" analysis, and methods to make the best use of your data as input for your model. This is a strategic-level type of modeling, so if you are dealing with operational-level problems this might not be your best choice. I personally enjoy strategic (and sometimes tactic) modeling, and I had a lot of fun reading this book. I highly recommend it.

Excellent work
Extremely well written. This is the best work I have found on GIS network design.

Excellent!
The whole book is based in the concept of trade-offs in a supply chain as a main design guide, instead of detailed technical considerations regarding network theory. This book is perfect for people designing a supply chain from a bussiness perspective and draws a clear methodology to accomplish this task. Very recomended.

Ótimo livro!
Achei o livro muito bom, bem didático com foco no processo como todo e como deve ser seguido. Vários pontos de atenção são destacados como erros que podem ser cometidos e etc. Super recomendo para este tema.

Four Stars
The book gives a good explanation of the SCND using examples.

Quantitative book - limited input to support program design
I found the book very quantitative but could not a real framework to apply in order to design projects of this nature
