I use these small USB drives for promotional use for distribution of my original music.They work and for the price I can afford to give away these USB drives to fans, promoters and radio stations for airplay.* Definitely an easier medium to carry around with you than bulky CD’s, etc.* Much easier to load these drives up with my music samples than burning CD’s and much faster to copy files to them than CD’s as well.* A unique and modern way to promote and distribute music.People real like that they are receiving fancier and a Tech like product rather than a bulky CD. An excellent touch and tool for promotional / marketing usage.* For use as a music sampler for giveaways, etc - I use the 128mb version USB flash drives. I am able to put 10 + 320mbs / MP3’s on them with some room to spare.* people really and are excited when they receive my music in this form.They won’t need to convert any audio files or burn CDs via their computers, that’s already done for them.* Works with many different devices such as stereos with USB ports, Smart TV’s and DVD players, a majority of modern vehicles that have USB ports as do not come with CD players. ( I am seeing more of these audio system configurations on new vehicles than before ) (Note: Some car mp3 players can not read the mp3 files when they are in folders on the USB flash drive, so don't use folders when uploading mp3 file on to it )* A decent product and great price..Recommended!

I was really hesitant about buying thumb drives on Amazon, especially because the reviews on KOOTION and many other brands were not that great. I own a videography business and usually order thumb drives with our logo printed on it from a really reputable site. I went to Amazon because my Dance Recital client asked about switching from DVD's to thumb drives. I was excited because I loathe burning DVD's and printing on them, cutting the DVD covers, making menus, etc. However, the number of thumb drives she would need would be expensive. These drives are a huge bang for your buck. I ordered 50 of them. As soon as they arrived I re-formatted them all to what I need, put some files on all of them and everything is working the way it should. I would have preferred to have USB 3.0 but for the budget, I had to get USB 2.0. They are just as fast (or slow, as any other USB 2.0). I will have them sitting in the package for now until I'm finished with the recital and ready to copy everything. I know some people mentioned they worked for a little while and then were unrecognizable by the computer. So far, so good. Also, I was worried that they would arrive with the KOOTION logo on them and they came as promised, just plain black thumb drives with the silver swivel. I'm really satisfied with these so far!

16GB - 10 USB drives for about $22.00 - about $2.00 per item is very reasonable. Even though these are USB 2.0, they work OK for me - somewhat slower, but OK. One problem that I encountered with my package is that 2 of the 10 drives seem defective. I get a "No Media" error. The drives show up in the browser and indicate that they are working, but they are not. When you click on them, a message pops up stating "Please insert a disk into the USB drive " . I thought I could contact Amazon for tech assistance because I believe they can be fixed, but my only choice was to return the package for a refund or replacement - which sucks. I did not want the hassle of returning because where I live, the closest UPS center is about 10 miles one way. So, I decided to keep them and take away one Star from my rating.

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to test all of these as soon as I got them. Not a rigorous test by any means, but just to make sure that they all initialized. Only two of them would work with the front 3.0 ports on my case. So I double checked to make sure that they were initializing in windows and there was nothing there at all, even though the power led on the flash drive itself would light up. So I decided to test them on a 2.0 port. All 10 worked. So I tried the 3.0 ports on a cheap 3.0 hub that I have. All 10 worked. Why they don't work on my cases's front ports is beyond me. It's not a cheap case and I've never had any issues with anything else on them. I'm not even going to knock off a star since I don't know what's actually causing it, even though I'm sure it's the drives. For as cheap as they are I wouldn't expect them to be the longest lasting devices... I'm just using them as installers. If the prior reviewers are really that concerned about data loss, why are they using ridiculously cheap flash drives and why, oh why, is it the only backup they're using?
