This is one of the better books on building with redstone. It covers the basic logic of redstone devices and circuits in some detail, and includes sample circuits to demonstrate them. The illustrations are excellent and show clearly how to build the sample circuits and projects that are presented. As an engineer with a strong background in digital logic, I found some of the explanations confusing, and feel that they could have been simplified by using more conventional logic symbols and descriptions. It falls short of "mastery" in that it doesn't cover some more complex redstone uses and behavior, and like many other redstone references, fails to distinguish the differences between the PC/Gamebox Minecraft and Minecraft PE editions, so PE users may be disappointed until they learn that on their own.

I got this for my son who was immediately excited about it, but I don't think he learned much from it as he's already been a relatively experienced red stone user - if i see him use it more, i'll let you know.

This book explains a lot of how red stone works and has inspired my fifth grader. Red stone apparently mimics how circuits work.

A little much for a 7 ye old but he will like it in a couple of years

This book is tough to understand, it teaches you circuit power, but it's time consuming, and for my 6 year old, forget it!!

This book brings out redstone from minecraft screens to a books pages, this book is exemplary to all other minecraft redstone books. It doesn't matter if it's unofficial! Starting with a complete guide to all redstone items and ending with challenging builds, this book is like it says "the ultimate guide" and I highly recommend it to people of all ages.
