Asterix Omnibus 4: Includes Asterix the Legionary #10, Asterix and the Chieftain's Shield #11, and Asterix at the Olympic Games #12 Paperback – July 3, 2012

This series of Asterix comic books have been one of my favorites since my childhood, and now, as a senior citizen, i love gifting it to very young relatives and friends with kids. It simply is good clean fun with masterful illustrations to boot. They are amusing enough to bring a smile to any age-group, come to think of it. Can highly recommend and will keep buying them.

I read these comics as a child over and over again. They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining. The story follows the members of a small village in Gaul whom resist the Roman Empire by virtue of a super-strengthening potion brewed by their druid Getafix. The heros of the stories are Asterix ( a short, but smart warrior) and his best friend Obelix ( a large, boar meat loving, loyal but not smart warrior whom fell in a cauldron of magic potion as a child and as a result has permanent super strength). You can read each comic seperately and be able to follow the story, though certain characters do repeat throughout the series. I am buying them again as an adult and enjoying them just as much as I did as a kid. I definitely recommend these comics.

Kindle review. The three volumes in this omnibus are my favorites so far. They are very funny. Obelix falls in love, Asterix and Obelix join the Roman military, the Chief goes on a diet, and Asterix competes in the Olympic games. I enjoyed them as a child, and enjoy them now as an adult. It's a good value.

We recently introduced him to Asterix and Obelix, and he's hooked. It's wonderful to be able to buy them in this omnibus format, three at a time, because it not only saves shelf space (we have them all separately, and a lot of them hardcover), but it saves a lot of money, too! My son-in-law, being a barely graduated engineer, loves the shelf-space aspect, needless to say, and my daughter doesn't mind re-reading all her old favorites, either. A perfect present all round. We'll keep collecting, and adding.For those of you unfamiliar with this French comic, it's history with a big grin---Julius Caesar and the Gauls from a whole new angle. Rather irreverent, and I'm sure the Romans could complain if they were still around, but hilariously good fun, and clean, too! Like a graphic novel about adventures in historic times, but with some of the cuteness of the smurfs and the tongue-in-cheek sarcasm of Garfield rolled into it as well, you might say. I can only recommend you find any volume and try it out (doesn't matter much which, there's a nice explanation of the background in the front of each.)

This omnibus contains 3 of the best Asterix stories I've read. I enjoy Asterix a lot and these 3 stories are excellent. Not much more to say about it. Goscinny and Uderzo were at their peak when they wrote these. These books are great for all ages. The tongue in cheek humor becomes all the more apparent for adult readers but by no means is it less entertaining for children!I loved them when I was a little kid and I love them now as an adult!The binding and format of this collection is excellent. Just buy it. even the price is right!

I love the Asterix books. They are all funny, and clever. They are for a wide range of ages. I have been enjoying reading them since I was a child and still love them.My kids had a lot of fun reading them.

I've been reading these in English ever since I found an old copy of "Asterix and Cleopatra" at the public library, and I enjoy them as much today as I did then. The puns, the characters, the settings, it all combines for some good fun. These omnibuses (omnibi?) are a nice size and seem to have a good, sturdy binding. If you're looking for some quick laughs, or you want to catch up with your favorite Gauls, this is a good way to go!

My grandson not only enjoys the reading experience of this book but rereads and giggled away at the content
