ExTech stands behind their product
I was tired of using hard-to-interpret test strips for measuring spa water and the low-end pH electronic meter I purchased seemed inaccurate.I can't make a claim to absolute accuracy of the meter; it has the appearance of accuracy with 2 decimal places. I'm assuming the 3-point calibration and temperature compensation will certainly help accuracy. Since using this meter I've been able to maintain good and clear water quality that was previously problematic. It's important to always store the probe wet in the vessel with storage solution. Calibrate the meter and then regularly check the pH with buffer solutions, 4, 7, and 10 pH; you can determine how often is required by checking it at various intervals. Mine holds calibration well over months. The probe is temperature calibrated, I need to leave the probe in the water for at least 30 seconds before the measurement stabilizes. The original meter unfortunately failed (would not power on) after a little over a year of using about 2x / week. ExTech customer service was very responsive and friendly. ExTech kindly sent me a new meter without any charges after I provided them with my Amazon receipt. Hopefully the new one lasts much longer than the original.

Good quality and accurate
I purchased this for a product that has to be tested at ~170 degrees Fahrenheit and it has sped up production not waiting on the lab. Does need to be calibrated before each use, but well worth the cost. $185 will be recovered with just a couple hours of wait time and having good quality material in the end👍👍

ExTech is a great company, packaging is a great case
I wouldn’t have trusted ExTech for my high quality pH meter, but I had purchased their light meter and was very impressed by it. I’ve had no problems, but do feel like if I want to trust it for lab-level pH readings I should buy a more expensive meter. Im just pH’ing houseplant water so I was aiming for a economical balance and I wouldn’t have purchased anything else.I like to have Pelican cases with cut foam for all my tools. This comes in a pretty good cardboard box with foam cut outs, so just take care of the box, hot glue the foam inserts down and you’ll have a super adequate case for this meter.Don’t forget to also purchase calibration fluid, because while these digital pH meters are way more accurate than pH paper, they require re-calibrating and proper storage of the sensor.

Worst product support from a manufacturer
Do not buy from this company if you want product support. Not only is their warranty/support system difficult to use, it is beyond slow, our pH meter has a fault, so we created a support ticket, literally 10 messages and about 2 weeks later, often asking for the same information and proof of purchase, we still do not have a answer as to if they will replace or repair the pH meter. So we are giving up and we will never buy a product from them again. The price point is not low enough to be considered a throw away consumable, and we expect support when needed, pity because the actual meter worked well for a few weeks before it failed.

Great product
This has been really great. I bought a replacement probe just in case, but have not had to use it.Two things to note: 1) DO NOT pull the probe out of the storage liquid, unscrew the cap. 2) the automatic temperature compensation uses a temperature reference internal to the sensor head. This means the sensor head has to be close to room temperature for it to work (i.e. don't leave it in the cold garage like I did ...). It will report HHH when you plug in the probe if the unit is too cold.Highly recommend this product.

A very affordable option if you need to make measurements in a lab etc
I need to accurately measure pH between 1 and 13 for some lab testing. My other meter was awful. I didn't want to spend many $100s or $1000s on a lab pH meter. After much research I came across the Extech PH220-C pH meter. I'm very impressed. I did a 2-point calibration (pH 4 and 7) and tried to measure 0.1N KOH solution (which is a very accurate pH13 solution) - and it read 13.0!Make sure you order some buffer sachets from elsewhere. This meter only comes with two pouches of pre-made solution.BTW, if you are wondering about the brand, Extech are well-known for their multimeters and other voltage measurement equipment. Since a pH meter is nothing more than a voltmeter, it makes sense that Extech make pH meters.
