I love this book for its Italian recipes and heart warming personal stories. Pasta Grannies gathers authentic pasta recipes from all over the country. It is a national treasure for the history it imparts thanks to the author, Vicky Bennison and each of the contributors for their oral histories.

This book is so great for anyone - especially those with italian roots, looking to up their cooking skills!! I have always followed the pasta grannies youtube channel and have been cooking for 20+ years. This book is awesome because it details the background of each type of pasta, provides a recipe (includes measurements in grams, cups, and oz. (very helpful because a lot of European cookbooks are only in grams), and in depth instructions. It's very visibly pleasing and so fantastic to have all these recipes continue to be passed down from generation to generation. There are so many different types of pasta to choose from and many are very easy. There's also great detailed instructions on how to make pasta from scratch, which is a fun challenge. I hope that I become more efficient and I am able to learn these recipes and pass them on to my grand children!

I bought this as a Mother’s Day gift for my mom and she loved it. My mom cooks a lot, and she loves to cook pasta. We both enjoy this cookbook, reading the recipes of the Pasta Grannies, and their stories! If you like pasta, you can’t go wrong with this book!

The history is important and the stories can grab your heart. They let you know their truth while sharing their treasures. The traditions are held in the honor of their cultural backdrops and often in the context of how to stay alive. It’s just what they do, taking care of the family and often it is Alice long commitment. Everyone has a garden for fresh ingredients with different regions growing special varieties that give each dish a unique flavour. Wheat textures and vegetable chopping are often personal signatures.So have a nice pleasant garden that grows your favorite fresh ingredients and gives you peace when you are in it.Trying everything is the best part along with seeing the Grannies faces as they mentor their wonderful gifts.

I loved the book and these women who clearly know their way around pasta dishes. These women lived through World War 2 so they are individuals who survived difficult times. These recipes are really hands on productions but for those occasions when you have some helping hands, it will be the star of the meal. Also most dishes would freeze quite well. I have another book on regional Italian. Loki g and it ain’t all spaghetti and pizza…..this book can introduce you to some great new regional dishes

This is one of those rarely entertaining cookbooks. I saw it recommended in AARP magazine, and decided to order it. I am reading it as I would have novel, the stories told by the Grammys are wonderful. The recipes are relatively easy using simple ingredients and time-tested methods. This is a delightful book that I would recommend to anyone who loves Italian food and the beauty of a well-written cookbook.

A really good book - Handsome and hard bound with a very pleasant look - In my opinion it's a perfect size because we don't need a magnifying glass to read it🤓- Its nice because if we get anything on it we can just wipe it off with a damp cloth without doing it any harm - Very appealing photography(very crisp and clear) and has the feel of being sturdy bound in your hands - It will certainly be around our kitchen for many years - I'm sure we will find it a little nookie to keep it in so we can quickly get at it for some home made "gnocchi"!~ jisaac
