Finally, a book about finances that is actually fun to read.
Burkett takes a humorous approach to finances that makes total sense. I have even caught myself laughing out loud at many of his poignant remarks. Anybody that has more than $100 should read through this book to avoid some of the financial pit-falls that so many of us fall into. If you have already fallen into a pit, this book is full of great advice for getting out . I wish I had found this book about 10 years ago.

If you like absolutes, reading about Christianity, and need to learn the obvious this might be a good start.
Where to start? The absolutes are things like1 - "Never buy a new car" with the reason being the immediate loss of value when it leaves the lot. What about the newest safety devices, getting a warranty, needing a reliable vehicle, fitting a lifestyle and other such things?2 - Tithe is repeated ad nauseum and so is talking about your "Christian" relationship with god. What does this have to do with finance? If you feel it does then what about all the other religions? Atheists?3 - Never use credit cards because of a lack of self control. Wow! What about travel? What about rebates? What about on-line purchases? Well since he uses the word never I've had cards and never paid interest or fees while getting trips around the globe and cash rebates for purchases I'd have made anyway. What was useful? If you have no clue how to budget, why a 401K is advantageous, and how to balance a check book this may be for you. Personally I got this for free from a friend and if I'd paid more than five books used would have be disappointed. You can learn more by reading and downloading budget forms from the Internet or just making a simple one in a spreadsheet.
