Minor filing required, but easy replacement
I bought this to fix issues with the factory nut on my new Telecaster. The new nut fit my Mexican Tele perfectly. I had to file the center pin off to match the 9.5" radius of the slot and do a bit of filing on the edges because it was a mm wider on each side than the width of the neck. All very minor work and expected. Seating was tight and I had to use pressure to seat it entirely. It's not going anywhere and no glue required. String slots were the perfect width and I no longer hear the sitar like twang when playing open strings. It's a cheap and easy replacement.

Perfect fit, zero sanding or filing
This nut fit in my Mighty Mite strat neck perfectly, with no sanding or filing. Sung, no glue necessary. Exactly the right height. I’m surprised absolutely no installation mods required. Much higher quality than the stock nut, you can hear the ping and ring increased. Very nice.

Fit right in my Telecast
Fit is snug and width just slightly oversized. Dressed it out with a fingernail file and pressed it in. Required a little work with the files to set it up as expected for a new nut.

Great product
Bought as a replacement nut for a Fender Nashville Telecaster. You need to file off the knob off the bottom and then use 400 grit sandpaper to shape the bottom. To get the profile correct, cut out a piece off sandpaper and place over the first fret. Lightly sand the bottom of the Tusq nut over the sandpaper to ensure it’s shaped properly. I also had to sand the side of the nut for it to fit snug in the slot. The key is to take your time and re-check the fit after each sanding. The nut should not rock back and forth in the slot. I noticed an immediate increase in sustain and tuning stability after installation. Highly recommended.

Dramatic improvement in sustain
Replaced the plastic nut on my Squier Telecaster with Graph Tech XL nut and the increase in sustain was huge. This guitar now really rings and sounds great even unplugged. The new nut required very little work to achieve a perfect fit and tuning stability is much improved thanks to the lubricated nut. Best guitar-related purchase I've made in a long time.
