Much better than the ones you have to carve on!
This size comes very close to the height you'll need for decent action right out of the box & required only a minimum amount of sanding & forming, as opposed to most of their other offerings. I've carved six or seven nuts out of the graph tech nuts, whether XL or not & they all required much more work than this one. That was a very happy surprise, since I'd just carved one for another guitar the day before, using a flat bottom, because I needed 12" radius, which they don't make prebuilt as of yet. My fingers were sore already, & I wasn't looking forward to repeating the next day, & thankfully I never had to. Great buy.

Great product and it provides excellent sustainabilities - precut and ready for install
Hardest part in replacing Squire nut from 2019 model was getting it out of the slot. Had to resort to using pair of grips to technically lift nut out since sliding it out was a no go. This unit seems to have the grooves done to pretty good degree so only minor adjustments are necessary if at all. Used small fingernail file to size ends down a little and remove sharp edge from fret side to become smoother. Overall pleasant upgrade to do. Once old nut was out tested it on glass and sure enough it had that cheap plastic sound... dropping this Tusq nut on glass sounded just like bone with high pitch sound instead. The other bonus was going from white to black nut to match blacked out theme on this Special Edition Black Metallic Squire.

With a little sanding fit perfectly, and south great. I got it for a Squier telecaster the nut would vibration on tuners sound. Sound great now.

Worked perfectly after some minor filing and sanding.
The bone nut on my 2008 Simon Lee Cyclotron guitar broke. I was looking for something that resembled the nut that broke off, and this one seemed to be a good fit. It isn't an exact match but it seems to work fine.Steps I took:1) I used a diamond file to sand down the tab on the bottom, which came off very quickly/easily.2) I checked the width of the nut, it was about .2mm thicker than the nut I had originally. I sanded it off. There was a faint line on one side which made it easy to see how the sanding was going.3) I installed the nut, taped the neck and filed down the nut so it was flush with the outside of the neck. I did not use any glue because the pressure was enough to hold the nut into place. The end result is good. The nut has higher action than my previous one but I kind of wanted to raise it anyway. I could sand it a bit but then I'd have to file the string slots (which is also easy to do with the proper tool). Since the action is higher I also need to adjust the intonation on the bridge, but that's not a big deal. My neck has a 12" radius but this nut seems to work fine, despite it being designed for a smaller one. I didn't find it necessary to sand the bottom.
