Worthwhile read
It shows various perspectives of various types of tradersIt gives a look into the professional (institutional) worldIt mimics your own experience (at least for me to some extent)It helps you to embrace and conquer your own deficiencies. The book was great. I was totally hooked into it, especially seeing that they gave visual examples, and explained all sorts of stuff. Hell, the book is even great for persons who know nothing about trading, but would just like some insight into the world of trading.Going to look for another Rob Booker book now.

Good read
It is an enjoyable book to read. There are a lot of brutally honest moments where the Harry's emotions get the best of him. It all comes down to research and discipline. Even though the main character goes through a lot to become successful, it does tend to make it sound much easier that reality. And it's a bit pricey for a novel, this isn't a book about techniques. Still I would recommend it for traders or aspiring traders in any market.

a recommended textbook in novel form
I saw this book in the store and couldn't put it down, so I came here to Amazon where I found it at a better price. At the time I had big dreams of trying to make some money on currency trading. The results are predictably the opposite in an embarressing way after. I got rid of all my currency trading books immediately ... except ... I wasn't done reading this one. Even though I'd just cleared out half my bank account (and didn't have a job to replenish it) I wanted to finish this book. It's that interesting. It's a textbook in currency trading in novel form. I wouldn't recommend following it as a textbook. I believe it's a bit more hopeful with it's happy ending than reality dictates and you've got characters betting thousands of dollars in a single bid which most of us should know better. But, if you can dig into the essence of what's it's saying this can be a far more interesting textbook than you'll have ever read before.I highly recommend this book. Though, don't except it'll make you rich.On a purely literary side. Why hadn't I thought of doing something like this? It's that simple of an idea. Not difficult to read either and the characters seem real (and probably are).

It's OK, but..
I enjoyed reading this book. However I had some problems.First of all, I like how Mr. Booker hammered home about how there are no trading shortcuts. Plus I also liked that the psycological issues of trading were addressed. But the book is too expensive for all it contains. Plus I would rather the main character have a real mentor and not a magical one.I'm reminded of The Greatest Miracle by Og Mandino. Only Og Mandino's book is far supperior (and cheaper) that Rob Booker's. If you want to read a fictional story about trading that is also educational, read Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. It is cheaper and semi-biographical of a real life successful trader, Jessie Livermore.

A trading book for everyone!
You have heard the cliche so many times that I hesitate to use it, however here goes anyway--"you won't be able to put this book down!"This is a book for traders, a book for new and experienced traders, a book for wives and friends of traders, a book for people thinking about trading and a book for all teenagers on their summer vacations so that their parents can keep them out of them malls. The great thing about this book is that somehow Rob intertwines trading discipline and strategy with a humorous story about a trader who starts off with stars in his eyes and ends up with a realistic vision of trading success.I already know that Rob is a great trader, however he is great writer too and throughly engages all of your senses in this book about Harry Banes. No matter what your level of skill and interest in trading, Harry has a message for all readers of this fantastic book. I have been trading for several years and still grabbed some great ideas from this book. Well worth your time!

This is a good book to read
Rob Booker has done a great job in writing this book. I think the story of Harry Banes is a very common story for most new traders. We all have dreams to make it in the FOREX, but we do not know how easy or difficult this could be. There are a lot of messages and experiences being shared in this book. This book has strategies, but they are not being displayed with the tittle strategy 1, 2, etc. The way to find them is by reading the book page by page. Discipline, team work, constant preparation, persistence, some basic technical analysis, and trading ideas are found in this book. I find "discipline" as one of the ingredients many new traders do not want to take and follow it. There are a lot of truths about how we all behave when we trade. As long as, I can learn something from a book I think the author deserves my comment. Finally, if you want to learn FOREX, we all need to study, and practice all the time. To be successful at FOREX, this should be taken as a job.

Wonderful read
I got tired of reading the numerous trading books that talk about the same strategies, same indicators, and same market factors over and over again. I am not sure there is much more to learn from those types of books. I decided to focus more on authors who share their careers and personal incites into trading mentality. Adventures of a Currency Trader is the first of these books I have read and it did not disappoint.Harry Banes may be a fictional character, but he is a person all traders can relate to. This book is a cautionary tale for those interested in the currency markets. The author does a great job at outlining the pitfalls of currency trading while leading Harry (and the reader) to the light at the end of the tunnel. This book will not teach you how to read charts or use indicators. Instead, this book will teach you how to manage your discipline as a trader and, more importantly, be a more responsible individual.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking a change from the usual trading texts.

Where is the message?
Is this guy is a trader or marketer? I don't think he knows how to trade. Please stay away form this book and you better read some authentic books where can flourish your market knowledge. Completely waste of money and time.

This was a present, but I did manage to read most of it, before wrapping it. It was fun, easy to read, and extremely informative.

Great book. If you are thinking of trading read this book befor you place you first trade.
I am just starting out. The information in this book not only answered questions I had been unable to find the answers to it stopped me from making some big mistakes. The story format made it really easy to read and made it relatable.
