I like it, just a little flimsy feeling
I use this on my lap while watching TV, not on a desk. It is comfortable. On advantage is that there are no air inlets or outlets in the bottom. My old Belkin unit that stopped working had a hole in the bottom center. It was a bit difficult to use in on my lap and still keep that hole open for proper cooling. This product has air inlet holes and outlet holes on the same surface, where the computer sits.It does have a tilt up feature, but it feels quite flimsy. There is a single piece leg that fits into several grooves to set the amount that it tilts up, much like a reclining pool chair. With it tilted up at least one notch, the cooling would be more efficient, as air could flow into the two cooling fans easily. Leaving the tilt feature all the way down is probably not as effective, however, that is where I need to use it. My laptop is a 17", and with the tilt feature up at all, the screen gets too high for good viewing. In fact, the unit is a bit small for a laptop the size of mine, but only just a bit. It works okay. The cooling seems to work pretty well, although some reviews have given it low marks for cooling amount. I don't see that as a problem at this point, and I do have a laptop the generates a lot of heat, due to the processor and graphics unit. The product is VERY quiet. I only hear my laptop fan when I use the product. The bottom line is that I like the product quite a bit. I would buy it again, and recommend it to a friend. Just the few and minor low points keep it from earning the top score. Give it a try.

Not bad
I just got a new 17" gaming laptop and wanted a decent pad to help keep it cool but one that wouldn't break the bank, this one scored pretty high on a few test sights. I would say it's better suited for a 15" laptop, my 17 fits but it does hang over on both sides. It is adjustable but didn't seem very stable for a laptop as large as mine but I'm going to experiment to see what I can do to improve stability and allow a little more airflow. For now it's doing what I need it to.*Update as of 1/28/15*I've had the pad for a little over 4 months, used it for about 3 months since it arrived before my laptop did. Its gotten moderate use just about every day, I'd say 4-6 hours on average and now when it turns on it is very loud, the noise does quiet down after a few minutes, but it raises the question about how durable to motor inside is. I looked it over to see if maybe it was clogged with dust, but that doesn't seem to be an issue, so we'll see how much longer it lasts, and update if anything changes.

Nice design, good features, does the job.
I have had my Gear Head Laptop Cooling Wedge for about a month now, with no problems. This cooler effectively brings the temperature down on my laptop, which tends to get very hot. My laptop also gets especially hot under the touch pad. This is the only area that the fan does not completely cool. The cooling wedge has a comfy fabric/foam sleeve around it, which makes it sit well on my lap. The fan stand can be adjusted to different angles, but because my laptop already sits at an angle (the battery has little feet stands) I don't make use of this feature. My only complaint about this product is that occasionally it triggers an annoying buzzing sound, and I have to slightly adjust the position of my laptop to halt the cause of the vibration. Otherwise the fans are quiet, and not really noticeable.

This product delivers!
I have owned this product for roughly one month. I previously had a similar laptop cooling pad that was missing some of the features of this one, i.e. the built-in stand. I was very pleased with my previous cooling pad and I gave it some of the credit for my previous laptop still being in commission after 5 years. It was stolen when my home was burglarized and this replacement blows it away. The Gear Head cooling pad is incredibly quiet but still manages to cool the low level gaming laptop I have that is running a powerful processor and dual graphics cards. It is comfortable enough for me to use without an additional keyboard whether I am using it on a table, in my lap, or laying it on my chest when laying down. In summation: (1) it is effective; (2) it is quiet; (3) it is comfortable; and (4) it looks great. I bought it around $24--for the price I don't think you could find a better product. I highly recommend this cooling "wedge."

Great cooling pad
I am giving the pad 5 stars, because it finally solved the problem with my laptop shutting down while I watch streamed HD videos. The size of the pad is perfect for my 15.6" Acer Aspire. The fans are very quiet. Some people have problems with the cord sticking out, which means that they didn't bother figuring out the way it is supposed to be set up - the upper edge of the fan base has to be elevated and rested on the outer plastic frame to provide the cord with room. It might be hard to picture it if you don't actually own the pad, but, trust me, there is no design flaw when it comes to the power cord. I am definitely satisfied with the purchase.

Always Running, Great Quality
It does seem to get energy even when the computer is off, but that isn't a worry too much for me. It is pretty quiet overall and does a great job at keeping the computer cooled. Not as easily to have on the lap as I initially thought it would be, but it may be that I am used to much smaller laptops for that type of job anyway. Easily handles my 17" laptop and the several types levels that it has are useful for the many different areas that it can be used in.
