GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U, PC USB & Switch - NEXiLUX

I just bought this version of the adapter, as it looks the same as all other posted on Amazon, but at a better price. I will update this review when the item arrives and let everyone know my thoughts and answer the most important question we all have, does it have any input lag, or does it affect Smash bros gameplay in any way? Stay tuned...UPDATE: I received the adapter today and the box looks almost identical to the Official Nintendo Adapter. The only notable differences are the box background color (purple instead of blue) and non printed Nintendo logo. I also tested out this adapter and it works the same as the Nintendo adapter. NO INPUT LAG and NO DEAD ZONES. I am currently making a You Tube video showing proof of this. At the time of this writing the price was still $24.99, but as more people buy it im afraid it might go up in price. The adapter came at a extremely cheap price compared to other adapters which was a big plus.It works perfectly fine but the inputs slots are a bit stiff and you have to push harder than a normal slot to put the controller wire in. but other than that it came in perfect condition with a nice box and no scratches.Also notice that the adapter is only useful for Super Smash Bros 4 and other games that follow the Smash Bros regulations, this excludes Mario Kart 8If this review helped you please vote below.

Works great with Dolphin, the emulator picks up controllers instantly and is usually already mapped. I had an issue with the smash ladder version of Dolphin but it was easily fixed by messing with the configuration menus. The build quality is pretty solid, but don't expect it to survive a high fall, the plastic is kinda cheap.

I Much rather have 1st party for this device, but they are a rarity at the moment. As advertised this works and looks identically to the Nintendo brand. The only issue I've had thus far with this device is having 4 wave birds plugged in and and being used at the same time. A couple of the wave birds started to stutter (is was very obvious when holding the thumb stick to side). At first i thought it was an issue with frequencies and spaced out all controllers further out. but still had the same problem. I eventually unplugged the 4th receiver since it wasn't being used, and it seemed to have corrected the problem. Once i realized this i plugged the fourth back in and it seems as if adapter could not handle powering all 4 controllers (this was evident as the receiver light would flicker instead of staying permanently lit when a button on the wave bird is held down). For this reason I will not give it a fifth star. I'm not sure if this is just a defect, or if it just can't handle powering 4 controllers at the same time. Otherwise, this works fine if you can't wait for Nintendo brand to restock

Best Damn off brand controller imaginable. You can do anything with this bad boy. Everyone SHOULD one, He'll TOU Don't Even Need A gamecube. You know, I haven't even used th is yet, I'm at a dave Matthews concert and drunk off me but so this lovely product is getting the benefit of a Damn luck. This better be on reddit in the morning or I will be dissapoi Ted in the internets.

Do not buy this if your intention is to use the dolphin emulator or the retropi on the raspberry pi. At first glance I thought it looked pretty shoddy, the switch for Wii U - PC's font choice was completely different to the rest of the system and the plastic was indeed quite cheap. Going more into the software the drivers that are said to be on their website (said by James E. Thornock's "Top Customer Review") do not exist. Their website, nexilux.com, does not even show this product (they haven't updated it since 2010) and most of their hardware is negatively reviewed. I tried downloading the GCN adapter drivers (that are supposed to support these third-party adapters) and found that it didn't support this adapter. I also tried vJoy which somewhat worked; however, most of the controller was recognized except for the sticks. The right stick was conjoined with the d-pad buttons and the c-stick was conjoined with x and y button, however it only recognized when I moved the c-stick to the left and right, not up and down. The problem being that the USB ID (when checking the drivers in zadig) is not the required ID is not the one that shows up for the adapter, meaning that you can't fix it with software without completely resetting it. In conclusion, I regret buying this and feel a bit cheated from the reviews; this adapter is NOT supported (yet.)

It works fine in PC mode. In my experience, however, in Wii U mode the Z button didn't work. When plugged into my computer in Wii U mode, it showed the Z button as continuously being pressed, and there's no way to fix it. Good thing I grab with L+A on Smash Bros., but I can't throw melee items in the air. It somehow works when I fully press down the R button which is really weird.

Just got this today and it works great! Don't support douches who buy a million of the official adapters just to scalp them on ebay. Third party ones work just as well.Note : This was only $25 when I bought it. Don't know why it raised to $35 but I'd wait for the price to go back down. $35 is still way too much for a measly adapter

If you're still waiting for Nintendo to work their crap out and produce more units, just buy this. I bought one to test and I'll definitely be picking up another for that 8 player smash.Shipping was fast, I got it the next day.Only downside is the feeling of plugging a controller in is weird compared to 1st party solutions. Instead of easily sliding in and then "clicking", there's just a constant slight resistance as you push it in with no indication of when it's all the way in.

Works well with wii-u. Although i regret not buying the mayflash adapter with works with PC.

Plays perfectly, just like the real thing. For $19 and actually being available (shakes fist at Nintendo), this is amazing. I hope everyone buys this and NEXiLUX makes a stupid amount of money over Nintendo's dummy decisions about this adapter situation. I rate 5 stars because of price when I've been looking for this for months, but the build quality isn't the best / the ports don't fit like a good build. No matter, it does what it's meant to.

I bought this to use some older Gamecube controllers and it works fine for Super Smash Bros, however it didn't work for Mario World. Not sure if this will impact other games, but I would be cautious if buying it.
