Shoes slip off
I purchased this to place by the door for all the shoes that used to be scattered under the table. It’s great for making the area look more organized and clean. The concept is great but the execution of the design not so much. The bars are a little too angled so the shoes often slip right off if you bump it. If they could make the bars more horizontal I think this product would be great. I plan on following the advice of another reviewer and using a glue gun to make the surface less smooth, so hopefully that fixes the issue.

Easy to Assemble, Sturdy Works Well
Simple shoe racks are not easy to find. This expandable rack was easy to assemble and works well. The rack expands to accommodate more shoes. I recommend the Whitmor two-tier unit.

Shoes will slide off if you don't orient towards the wall, otherwise great
You definitely need to heed the advice of everyone in the review section and point the shoe rack towards the wall, otherwise your shoes will definitely fall off (unless they have a heel to anchor them in place). Otherwise, it works pretty well! I personally don't think it looks silly or weird pointed towards the wall (although your opinion may differ), and the bonus is that you can use the space between the floor and the first tier for flat shoes, effectively turning a 2 tier shoe rack into a 3 tier one. The adjustable width is also very convenient and lets you take full advantage of whatever space you have. The one downside is that if you turn the rack towards the wall and have high heels, the heels will cover the slot underneath them and make that inaccessible. So if you have a lot of heels, use the rack facing forward and if you have a lot of flat shoes, use it pointed towards the wall. If you have a good mix of both perhaps look for a different shoe rack.

Perfect👍🏼👍🏼
I wasn't sure how sturdy this rack would be but I have to say it is very good!! It only took about three minutes to assemble and I love that you can extend it to fit your family's needs. I read the reviews about it not being as strong when you extend it open but I did not find that to be the case at all. My husband and teenage sons all put their heavy high top sneakers (size 12 men's) and I put my heavy UGGs boots along with regular shoes and had no problem. Also had no issue with the shoes siding off. I absolutely love the shoe rack and I'm definitely going to order a few more!! I 100% recommend it👍🏼👍🏼**************************************************************UPDATE- After a few days I noticed the shoes were sliding off. I tried turning it around but they still slid. So I took out my handy-dandy glue gun and glued a zigzag pattern along all 4 poles and all 4 leg pads on the bottom. If you have carpeting then you do not need to glue the bottom legs but if you have tile or linoleum flooring than it helps give it a good grip. After it's dried the hot glue acts as a grip so that your shoes will no longer slide off. Sliding issue solved!!!! I've included a few pictures of how I fixed it. Hope this helps someone!

Decent rack--does what I bought it for
I purchased two of these to stack one on top of the other and have four "shelves".Pros: expands to fit the space perfectly, stackable, holds a lot of shoes with room under the bottom rack to slide in sandals, neutral white, easy to buildCons: it's not as sturdy as a previous expanding shoe rack I had (poles got bent during a move so I had to get a new rack and couldn't find another of the old one--guess they're not made anymore) and there is less space between the shelves, so booties don't fit as they did in my old rack--have to put booties on the top rack.Thank goodness for amazon reviewers! Shoes did slide off of my old rack unless they had a definitive heel. But I learned from reviewers here that I simply needed to turn the rack around so shoes are angled toward the back wall rather than toward the front. So I've done that with these new racks. Such an easy fix! Why didn't I think of that?!

Better than I expected
After reading other reviews on this product, I figured it would be fine to use in my closet to get a little more space. Honestly, it's higher quality than I expected. As long as the bottom of your shoes are somewhat textured, they won't slide off at all (for example, converse stay on well; my old, worn pair of flats stays, but is easy to push off). Either way, I do recommend having the slant face a wall anyway just to be sure. I have the rack expanded to fit 8 pairs total (4 on the bottom, 4 on the top), and it's very sturdy at this width. If you plan to put it in a confined space, the expansion feature is great for making it fit just right while getting as much storage space as possible. Assembly was very easy and took less than 10 minutes. For $10, this product does a good job.

Works only for Heeled Shoes
Not sure what I was thinking when I bought this, but I wanted something for my all my shoes that was expandable and was x inches high. This fits the bill perfectly, so nothing against the product itself. It is a bit wobbly and doesn't hold its width, but none of that really is concerning. The biggest problem is this product doesn't work for shoes that lack at least a bit of a heel-ledge. I only have maybe 5 pairs that have heel-edges. The rest are wedges or flats, so they all fall off with the slightest breeze. Haven't figured out yet how to fix this problem. I've tried sticky tape, a glue gun (to create rough friction) in hopes these would keep the shoes on the pipes. Even put a long piece of duct table in front of each layer. Nothing's worked so far. May end up gluing a board to the front of each layer, but haven't gotten that far yet.

Clean and simple shoe storage
I wanted something that wouldn't take up a lot of space, be easy to vacuum under and keep clean, and could be adjusted if I ever reorganize my closet. These expandable, stackable shoe racks satisfy all those requirements.I bought two racks and put them both together in less than 10 minutes (no tools required). Stacked, they work great for almost all my shoes. My high heeled ankle boots just barely fit and the tops _slightly_ touch the soles of the shoes above (fyi, my shoes are about 6" from the heel cap to collar). Wedges taller than 3" are also a close fit since the heel doesn't “fall” off the back and catch the bar. This can also cause them to slide off completely if I'm not careful to at least catch them on the bar by the heel cap.Nonetheless, for $10 it's five stars in my book. I may even get one or two more.

Decent shoe rack. Bought for office. works as needed. The shoe angle slope is pretty steep, so if you have shoes without heels they can slip. We countered this by propping up the front legs.Works well for what it is.
