"Easy Wire Art" by Susanne Schaadt is a fun and creative little book on the "emerging" wire art phenomenon. Her easy-to-follow guide has interesting projects from a bird cage to an inkwell and quill. These are quirky and clever creations to try out as a launching pad to making art works of your imagination.There are twenty-one stylish and decorative projects to try out that would make beautiful gifts for a birthday or Christmas, or as a fancy furnishing for your own dwelling or as a housewarming present.The guide instructs the artist in types of wire, how to get the wire fixed in a certain position, and ways to mount, hang, or assemble the creations for better utility.My only qualm is that these beautiful "sculptures" only lead to me wanting more. I feel like after reading through, I felt a bit disappointed, "that's it?!" This is an introductory book on the art of wire crafting,specifically shaping wire into creative shapes to use in pictures, on cards, in vases and as standalone sculptures. The technique are carefully explained with full color step by step photographs. There are 21 projects with easy to follow instructions and lots of inspiration to create your own projects. The is a useful and practical book that will teach the basics of wirecraft.

I'm thankful to have received an ARC of this book and happy to give an honest review. As a creative person who can't draw, sing or play a musical instrument, I have to find creative outlets where I can. This book gave me several great ideas for making my own art and I really love the book because of that.

The projects are adorable but the wire gauge (4 and 6 gauge) are too hard to use. I’m wondering if the wire gauge size is an error. The florist wires in the picture are a smaller gauge than 4 gauge.

Very easy to follow and understand. I always wondered how they made words with wire. Cute little projects to just hang around in random places or give to friends.

Due out 13th Aug 2019 from Fox Chapel, it's 80 pages and will be available in paperback format.There aren't a lot of beginner accessible non-jewelry oriented metal sculpting tutorial books out there. This book addresses a basic need in 'niche' crafting and arts. The included projects in this book are appealing and structurally stable. The included projects are appealing and easily adapted to include beads or other found objects for even more versatility.The book's introductory techniques, tools and materials sections comprise ~12% of the page content followed by the 21 tutorial chapters. Each of the tutorials include a materials sidebar, basic instructions and information, and templates for wire bending. The book also includes an index as well as a table of contents which includes a gallery listing of the tutorials.The included designs are very simple and whimsically appealing. The materials are inexpensive and easily sourced. The author has included a number of coordinated finishing/display techniques such as hanging stands and wall art.Four stars.

This is a really interesting, cute little craft book. Wire art had never been on my radar, but this book was too cute to pass up. Inside you’ll find 21 very simple projects that I would guess are on the beginner level. Someone who has never played with wire should still be able to complete several ideas from the book. I love that the table of contents has a photo of each project. While the two-dimensional pieces are extremely simple, it really gets across how you can design your own and make something beautiful and original. Once you get through these projects, you should have your imagination sparked and a desire to do more complicated projects. I loved the daisies, the city-scape, and the simple shapes that were framed. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in crafts, even if they’ve never tried wire before. The age range is probably around ten and up as long as the child knows how to handle wire safely and can operate pliers.Many thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review

Lovely book, very helpful. Had a few new ideas & helpful advice.

Great book if cute ideas with clear instructions that includes the direction of wire wrapping . BUT does anyone else think that the gauge of wire recommended eg 2 gauge 6.4mm thick hardened iron wire is correct? Eg Page 11 and throughout the book. I think the decimal has been moved in error, and should be 0.65mm ?Hope someone can help me !?
