Very small cookbook
I was shocked at how few recipes are in this book. It’s more of a booklet and way overpriced. Unfortunately I bought two as gifts, to go with a rice cooker/multicooker. I’m hoping there are some suitable recipes for the recipients.

Last recipe book you need to buy!!
If you like Cajun food this is the book for you! The sauce piquant recipes and crawfish and shrimp recipes are amazing!! Cabbage rolls used to take all day to make and now I use the cabbage casserole recipe to make it easier. This is the only recipe book where I have actually made and loved 75% of the recipes. And they all use simple ingredients that I keep in stock already. Nothing fancy I have to buy!! I know it sounds weird to use a rice cooker for meals but this is like a crockpot that cooks in 45min or less. If you have a fancy rice cooker you need to use the rice setting, not slow cook. And if it says to cook for a certain time then I set my timer and stop the rice cooker after that so the shrimp are not overdone. My family likes meals with substance and not just rice. This book also has a lot of recipes with potatoes instead of rice. The fajita chicken stuffed baked potato recipe is great! And it just uses frozen French fries for the potato part. It doesn't get much easier than that!!This is the perfect book for someone who loves to crockpot but wants their meal done in 45 min or less! I wish I was paid or given some compensation for this review , but sadly not. My aunt gave it to me years ago and my friends are always asking where to buy it.

Who knew you could do all this with a rice cooker?
My son ordered a copy for my because I was interested in their copy. I love it even though most of the dishes have either rice or pasta in them, and I am on a keto diet! I have made several of the recipes substituting cauliflower rice for regular rice, and subbing green beans or other veggies for the beans or peas. All these recipes are very flexible, so you can make a lot of different changes, and they are still very good. I love the ease of putting everything in the pot and pushing down the button. No stirring or checking recommended. I ordered 4 more copies as Christmas gifts for busy moms!

An easy start for the beginning or occasional cook
I hesitated before buying this, because I don't really need yet ANOTHER cookbook. But I caved in and purchased it in Kindle format. Of the three recipes I've tried so far, two are definitely keepers (Red Beans & Rice and Cheesy Noodle Goulash). The third might be salvagible (for my tastes) if I leave out the potatoes. The recipes call for readily available ingredients from the cupboard or grocery store (OK, maybe NOT roux mix....I'll have to special order that from Amazon). I do wish that the prepared meals were smaller, since I cook for one and don't want to eat the same thing for a week. I think the target audience will be singles or couples that work long hours and don't want to mess with deciding on dinner every night. The recipes, so far, are very easy to put together (although, I don't quite understand cooking spaghetti & meatballs in the cooker when I can cook it faster on the stovetop.)The Kindle format for this is what I've come to expect for cookbooks: the pictures are bad on my Kindle but show up very well on my computer. There is a good reference section that you can skip back and forth between the table of contents and individual recipes (you don't have to flip thru the whole cook book to find a particular recipe). All in all, I would recommend this cookbook in general and the Kindle format in particular

Very Nice Resource
Rice Cooker Meals is a small book. However, within its limited number of pages are many good meals, tips, and cooking pointers for the rice cooker owner who is looking to expand on the utility and flexibility of their rick cooker. In all, I would say that its a pretty good value.Still, Rice Cooker Meals is somewhat limited. Most of the recipes it contains are focused on Cajun-style dishes. For those sensitive to how spicy their foods are, there is plenty of room to accomidate mild to wild tastes. Moreover, the Cajun-style focus is not as limiting as it might first appear since many of the recipies are rice or pasta-based, insuring that they work well with the rice cooker. While the recipies alone insure that the book is a good value some of the tips and suggestions are real gold. For example, the author makes an excellent case for using the rice cooker to brown meat before using the meat in the core of some of the recipies included. Before I read this I wouldn't have considered the idea. However, I tried it and it works out well. The time and effort saved in clean-up alone made this suggest worth the purchase price of the book alone.

simple to use and simply great!!
I wasn't sure I'd be able to get the hang of using rice cooker for anything but rice. But as soon as this book arrived I read it from cover to cover and could hardly wait to try his recipes. This book is a little gem. With a little imagination you can easily adjust ingredients to make your recipes more spicy, less spicy, beef instead of chicken, broth instead of canned tomatoes with chiles, less butter, etc. etc. This is a no brainer. To some people it might look too plain but that's fine with me. It's just a good, easy to follow, minimum preparation, delicious collection of recipes, some of which are typical of louisiana cooking....which is what the author himself did not dispute. I have never used as many recipes out of any cookbook I own..and I own a lot!!! I'm currently going through all the recipes but so far my favorites are Shrimp Jambalaya, Black Eyed Peas & Sausage Jambalaya, Tex-Mex Pasta, Chicken fried rice, and Mexican Rice. There are also soup recipes, yams, potato and cabbage recipes but haven't tried these yet. Mr Bertrand I'm anxiously waiting for your next cookbook, if there is one, but in the meantime thanks for this one!

Rice Cooker Meals: Fast Home Cooking for Busy People
Rice Cooker Meals: Fast Home Cooking for Busy People - this was a great find. I only used my Rice Cooker for cooking RICE (I'd had the cooker given me without a booklet). When I found this on the Amazon site I have been able to cook much more than rice. It arrived on time and was reasonably priced.

Very American
Disappointed with this book, it is very American in content. Not sure if some ingredients are available in UK stores
