Telcare BGM Cellular-Enabled Blood Glucose Meter (TM0001)

This company made there meter have so many useless features, which drain the battery incredibly fast, I have to charge my meter everyday to use it which shouldn’t be the case for a medical device. Half of the strips will fully suck up blood but then display a error message.

In my 5 years with diabetes, this is the worst meter I have ever had (and I have had a lot). Although the big screen is attractive, it makes the product bulky and kills the battery life.The meter is supposed to go into sleep mode after 2 minutes, but my meter is dead after a few hours if I accidentally leave it on (there is an on-off switch on the side). This is especially horrible when you are out for the day and did not bring the charger.Another issue I have had with this meter is accuracy. In the past month, it has given me the result "LOW" (which shows up in the memory as 19) two times. After each of these times, I immediately test again with the leftover blood on the same finger and get a normal result (137; 119). That is truly unacceptable for a blood glucose meter.The only advantage to this meter is its ability to wirelessly send data to an online profile that you create on the Telcare website. However, that does not make up for its many disadvantages. Unfortunately, the Telcare strips are the only ones that my insurance company will pay 100%. So, I guess I am stuck with this meter for now.

I have been using this for about 2 years now. I haven't had any issues with wrong readings, and my doctor likes the reports she can review. The Bluetooth technology is a must now a days. I like that it is simple and I can pull up my readings on my phone app or print. I find that the battery lasts a really long time if you remember to turn it off after you use it. If you don't turn it off the battery is drained. I would recommend this meter!
