These are fine little canvases for the price. They aren’t high end, but they can easily be made much better. The canvas is a little loose, but if you spray the back with plain water, just enough to wet the canvas, not soak it, and make sure to squirt into the corners too, that will make them tight as a drum. I used a regular plant spray bottle put on a fine mist. It happens quickly too. In a few minutes. It’s a great trick I learned. If you flick the canvas and it still isn’t tight, spray it again. (Make sure you get into the corners or they may look puckery. No worries if they do, just spray into those corners from the back. You’ll need to tilt the canvas a bit.Also, add a couple of coats of gesso. That will make them much smoother. A little sanding helps too, but be gentle. These aren’t very thick canvases and you can rub them raw on the edges pretty easily. I use 150 grit aluminum oxide paper and then brush off the canvas carefully with a soft brush. Don’t use your hands to brush them off or you can get oils on the canvas from your hands. (This step isn’t absolutely needed, but it does make the canvas smoother).I hope this helps.

It's about 6 years later and I finally finished the last painting on these. I liked how well the paint stuck to it. And it worked fine.

These are great low-cost canvases. Yes, they do come a little loose, but as a previous commenter recommended, all you have to do is spray them from behind with water and they tighten up immediately. Super easy fix and worth it to keep costs down. The canvas is a bit on the thinner side and more textured than higher quality canvases. I personally don’t have a problem with that. Only every other canvas is wrapped, but all of mine arrived in the condition they should be in. Will definitely order loads more.

Based on other reviews I was worried my canvases would arrive with holes in them. But I decided to go with Art Alternatives since they had the lowest return rate compared to other brands on Amazon. I was so relieved to find none of my canvases had holes or tears! They all came wrapped in plastic. When I took the first layer off every other canvas had it's own indiviual plastic wrapping. I would have prefered that they all be individually wrapped for added protection, but can't complain since they arrived safely :) All the canvases were tight with none sagging. I have to say, I'm completely satisfied and I'll definitely buy again!

My grandma had this great idea that everyone was going to paint a picture on Christmas Eve after diner at her house. I ordered these and some paint brushes and prayed that we would make it through this. haha needless to say I was quiet impressed with the build of this product. I always stretched my own canvas and this was almost as good, it has a little bounce to it but not much and it doesn't sag or get loose. The product and my family both surveyed! I was very surprised at both this product and my families painting skills.

These are GREAT little canvases! I'm so pleased with this purchase. I was looking for something to let my kids create artwork for their bedroom walls ... I didn't want to spend TOO much for them, as the kids will just be using craft paint, etc ... I WAS SO PLEASANTLY surprised when I opened these. I'm an artist myself and have purchased countless canvases over the years and these are fantastic. I've already purchased the larger versions of these for my own paintings in acrylic and oil. Really great find!

This set had 3 canvas damaged when I received them but luckily I used those for stretching my printed canvas over the bare frame. I didn’t purchase them for this reason though. This is the only reason I didn’t return them.

At first I thought I saw two canvases with a big hole in it.even though money was lost I thought, no biggie, I will use the other ones. After separating all canvases there were 4 altogether with a hole in it. Whatever happened to the first canvas at the top of the pack that made the hole went out of the first and into the rest. These aren't useable and as much as I was excited for this delivery, I was pretty let down.
